I feel HORRIBLE for my DH! It seems every time he holds Summer she gets fussy. Right when he hands her over to me she stops. I seriously think he's going to cry.... he keeps asking me "what am I doing wrong" or "why does she hate me". I don't know what to tell him! He's not doing anything wrong. He's doing everything I would be, except nursing

she is used to your smell, your heartbeat, and everything about you for the past nine months. She is just more comfortable with you right now. Tell him not to give up and just try small amounts of time, I would recommend right after you nurse so she is nice and content She will be a daddy's girl before you know it and he will forget all about this point in time!

Poor guy - But this is quite common. He isn't doing anything wrong and she isn't the first baby to do this. . . My friends little girl was like this, too.

Mine was like this too. My DH got the job of burping because that's when baby is absolute happiest right after eating.

We were also sure to give baby and daddy lots of skin to skin time, so in the evenings DH would hold the baby (wearing just a diaper or naked if his bum needed air) on his bare chest. Skin to skin time is really important for bonding.

I agree with Lauren - the more he perseveres the more she will bond with him.

Aww as already said, she's just used to you. He's not doing anything wrong. With some time she will adjust to him too. Right now Ethan is most comfortable with me and T. I figure since T was the second female to hold him right after birth he knows her smell. Plus she comes and "baby naps" him often so he loves hanging with her. Give them more time to bond and she'll be just as cozy with daddy as she is with mommy.

Aww, it's totally normal, but your DH probably doesn't feel that way

Tell him the same thing I told mine, he stops fussing when I take him cause he knows I have food.

Fussing isn't a big deal IMO, tell him to hold her anyways. If she's outright hollering and crying I can understand him handing her over but if I were you I'd tell him to tough it out and enjoy the fussy baby.
