Will (or did) your SO cut the baby's cord? Were they excited about it or sorta grossed out or doing it b/c they "should?"

Haha!! Last pregnancy DH was planning on not doing it because it totally grossed him out. The on call doctor didn't take no as an answer and kinda forced the scissors into DH's hands.
I just asked him if he was going to cut Cora's cord and his response was "Probably, especially if the doctor forces me again..."

No. He wasn't given the option during my c-section. He was pretty disappointed.

Same here Alice! Ben cut it, though he didn't really want to and now says he doesn't remember doing it, lol. The OB just kind of forced the scissors on him. I remember him describing it and how 'gross' it felt to cut through when she was a newborn, but now he has already blocked it out and was like "oh did I?" haha

He will do it. He's not super excited about it or anything but he thinks it will be cool.

With our first kid together, our first son, my husband cut the cord and thought it was the grossest thing ever. So I cut it with our second and third sons. Its definitely an interesting experience. I loved being the one to cut the connection between me and my baby's. It was kinda symbolic to me.

My DH did not want to at all. While pregnant he would always say no way he was doing it. But when the time came he jumped on it, no questions asked. It's like he was a totally different person and so anxious to do it.

I think he did... weird, I don't remember! It was all such a blur as my labour and delivery was so fast!

Greg only cut Noah's cord. Never was given the option with any of the others. He said it was tougher to cut than you'd think, lol.

Stephen did with the first three kids. With Hadley the doctor didn't ask. Slightly ticked about it...

DH did it willingly. In fact, when I got admitted the nurse asked if he wanted to and his face lit up, it was so cute!

Shaun wants to, once he has made sure it's stopped pulsating to his satisfaction. He wants to catch the baby if there are no complications and they let him!

Bobby has happily cut all three of our children's cords. His favorite story to tell right now is how they gave him a dull pair of scissors for Paxton's cord and he kinda had to saw at it and blood splattered everywhere. It was like a scene from Dexter.

Exact same thing happened with our first, there was actually a lot of things that grossed him out and the midwife essentially just dragged him over and was like "come see!"
