Just hours after posting my "Still pregnant" thread my husband and I were over at friends having a late lunch when I suddenly started getting some strong contractions around 2pm. We left at 2:30 to go pick my son up from his friends and I asked hubby to drop me off at home because I wanted a few minutes of peace and quiet to evaluate what was going on. I started timing the contractions and they were 4 minutes apart and lasting for a minute, I was suprised they started so suddenly and so strongly.
When my hubby got home I told him to keep his shoes on, run upstairs and pack a night bag for our son and call his mom to let her know to expect Mathias because we going to the hospital NOW the contractions were very different then they were with my son, they were just strong and the pain was radiating down my hips/legs.
We called the midwife on the way to the hospital and told her to expect us, it was about 4:00pm when we got there. When we arrived she checked me 5cm, but because I had been 4cm at my apt that morning she wasn't sure things had really ramped up yet. She hooked me up to the monitor the baby was doing fine, but according to the monitor my contractions were irregular and not very strong. I was really nervous she was going to send us home I have no idea why the contractions were measuring so weakly when they hurt so much lol She asked us to go walk around for an hour then come back. Well I walked around for 20 minutes, in that 20 minutes I pee'd 5 times and I felt awful, shaky, puky, and super thirsty. When I returned to my room i sat in the recliner and just started drinking a tonne of water when the midwife came back she was a bit sceptical because we hadn't been gone that long but she checked me and I was at 6cm.
The pain was really intense and I was starting to panic a bit I was only at 6cm. With my son I was at 8cm before it even hurt enough to go to the hospital. I asked about the tub and she was all for it but she thought it was a bit early, then I started asking about the possibility of an epi because things were not fun so she recommended we try the tub first to see if it helps. She filled it right away and I had a couple of contractions in the tub. The midwife left the room to give us some privacy - she was gone maybe 5 minutes before I was begging at my husband to go find her because I needed the drugs, he didn't want to leave me but I assured him he could not help me that I needed the mw now!. I was on my knees hanging over the side of tub when they got back a few minutes later, and I was pushing. I couldn't stop it I was freaked out because I was just checked and only 6cm it was too early to push.
The midwife checked again and called for the doctor she told me to keep pushing that the baby was right there and that's why it hurt so much 2 pushes later and my little girl was born into the water, pretty much as the doctor walked into the room at 6:15pm just over 2 hours after I got to the hospital. She is perfect, and I had no tearing at all, just a lot of bleeding again. They asked us if we wanted to stay at the hospital over night or go home after the 4hr monitoring period, we opted to take our little girl home right away

She eats and sleeps like a champ and is just so awake - my son literally slept the first 72hrs of his life I don't even think I saw him open his eyes for like a week, she opened her eyes right away to look at her mommy and daddy
