I went in for a VERY early scan, see whats going on..got the scan..and their was a heartbeat detected. To me I calmed down till I was told the heartrate, then I panicked as it was very low. IDK if thats normal or what or if its a good sign. They said its so low and to repeat again..but if I go by the measurements the lady gave me the heartrate is about right. But my OB after when I went to see him said dont read into that, its alive for now, so thats a good thing..I didnt know what to think. he seems hopeful. I hope I can be to.

How low was it?

My first pregnancy I had a scan around 6 weeks and it was only 52 BPM. They told me that it could go either way. Maybe the HB has JUST started beating... everything I read online said it wasn't good, and unfortunately it was right. It turned into a missed miscarriage.

I hope your situation is different! I think anything close to 100 BPM is what they look for. I am hoping for the best!!!

I've heard the HB can be really low if it has just recently started. If its a really early scan then it's possible its just started beating.

I saw 98(?) in you other post. That sounds like the heart just started beating. Rest and relax until your next scan! I hope you feel better quickly!

98 isn't THAT low, especially if you are only 6 weeks?

I am sure everything is fine!

yes 98... thanks. So far the antibiotics are kicking in for my other issues. I just hope this one stays put. I swore I could make out a baby when she showed me on the screen. I know crazy..look like a jelly bean.

98

I also read that the heartrate goes up 3 beats per day from when it starts. So if I track it right now I should be in the 120s by next week. I guess thats right about right. Ugh..idk. I am panicking and knowing this early is really eating at me.

i found this on americanpregnancy.org just thought i would paste and copy it for you here...
Generally from 6 ˝ -7 weeks is the time when a heartbeat can be detected and viability can be assessed. A normal heartbeat at 6-7 weeks would be 90-110 beats per minute.

i think yours sounds good to me!!

fetalsure.com said this:
Starting at week 5 the fetal heart will accelerate at a rate of 3.3 beats per day for the next month.

The fetal heart begins to beat at approximately the same rate as the mothers, which is 80 to 85 bpm. Below illustrates the approximate fetal heart rate for weeks 5 to 9, assuming a starting rate of 80

Week 5 starts at 80 and ends at 103 bpm

Week 6 starts at 103 and ends at 126 bpm

Week 7 starts at 126 and ends at 149 bpm

Week 8 starts at 149 and ends at 172 bpm

At week 9 the fetal heartbeat tends to beat within a range of 155 to 195 bpm.

The fetal heart rate will begin to decrease and generally will fall within the range of 120 to 160 bpm by week 12.

I think this one is sticky and you are in for the long haul. Calming vibes coming your way
(I have had 6 losses myself... and seeing that HB at that rate at this point is really good!)

Thank you. I haven't heard heartbeats in my other losses. Had 4. Sorry you had so many also. Just wished my Dr was convincing about the rate of hb. Says low..then again the one who gave results at er didn't have a clue. So glad I have my ob..he is watchingme closely

(((hugs))) I agree if the heart just started beating it is a perfect number. I hope the time flies by quickly so you can have some reassurance.
