Well today I had another ultrasound. This was to check up on the babes and to make sure he or she is growing and also to check out my SCH. I am happy to say that babes is doing PERFECT! The heart rate has gone up to 170 bpm and was wriggling around. I am so in

My SCH is getting smaller which is wonderful news as well!
I had an amazing ultrasound tech who showed me everything and I was sure to ask questions in a way that I could get answers without getting her in trouble

Without further adieu, I would like to present my little babes:

So my vent is this, DH and I completed planned this pregnancy, as much as anyone can. I kept a calendar and know the days we DTD and the day I O'd and all of this. So I knew when my due date should be. However today I go in for an OB follow up. Now the only reason I was seeing an OB was because of the bleeding I had in the beginning in the ER and had to have a follow up with them. With that said, this OB tried telling me that I was due later then I am, and later than my ultrasound reflected.

I had to literally go through every date that DH and I DTD the O dates the Beta Levels literally everything, and the woman still would not listen. She also tried telling me that my "due date" was a result of my LMP. Omg this lady was numb, she just didn't want to hear it. I had only been to a midwife, I had an IUD, I had NO period. This lady doesn't know me or my history and didn't want to read. She just felt she was right and wasn't budging. I hope I NEVER have to see this woman again! Finally I agreed to disagree and left the appointment. I went to go set up my next appointment with the midwives secretary was sweet and could tell I was anxious. She then asked my due date.. I kind of laughed and said well the OB says its this but I know she's wrong. She said, well hun you had an ultrasound today right, I said Yes ma'am I did. She said well thats the date Im putting in the computer. I swear I literally could have hugged this woman, and almost asked her if I could!! *whew* Anyway, all in all I loved seeing my little babes and the difference a few weeks makes. We couldn't be happier!

awww Im so glad. I had a due date discrepency with my 6th son to and omg the dr got me so upset. I know when and how and what not and he said nope. I done like you, agree to disagree, and left it at that. Funny thing is, he allowed me to deliver my son earlier than his date, so hmm makes me wonder if he knew what he was doing. Sorry you had to go through that.
What was the dates the dr was giving you and what was the date the ultrasounds gave you so far?
On Dec 2 I should of been 5 weeks 6 days according to ovulation and the ultrasound tech gave me 5 weeks 2 days. idk what to beleive ..going for another ultrasound on dec 12

Actually the U/S due date was within a day of my calculations. It said July 6th, instead of my date of July 5th. That I could live with and made sense, it was the OB who was trying to tell me I was wrong and the U/S was wrong LOL and tried telling me because it was put in the computer as an LMP that I was July 11th. I know the difference is 5 or 6 days and really thats minute and trivial I just didn't appreciate the fact she wasn't listening that I just didn't have a period and I didn't feel comfortable having a DD based on when she THOUGHT I was going to have one. Oh well its over now! *whew* Bean is a cutie huh

No not my normal OB i had some bleeding in the beginning, turns out it was from a Subchorionic hematoma or hemorrhage. Anyway I saw the blood and went to the ER, because the ER has OB docs, I saw the OB on call. I then needed a follow up and had to see some OB Id never heard of before. Typically I only see midwives, so this was a technicality. Saw them in the ER and had to follow up. I will be so happy to go back to the midwife team!! No offense taken, LOL I swear this OB lady was PMSing

Most care providers will not change your due date in your paperwork unless the ultrasound shows a due date discrepancy of at least a 2 week error. Mainly because it's only an estimate. So the difference of a few days does not matter to them. It's frustrating that they didn't take the time to explain that to you. Personally, I'd be on the lookout for a care provider who I could communicate better with!

Adorable

That OB is nuts and just plain dense if she didn't understand from all the info you provided when your EDD is...

Thanks so much!!
The part about the discrepencies I understand, It was the DD in my paperwork I took issue with. I should not have even had one in there. I literally had my IUD out on the 28th of september and had no period (hadn't for 2 plus years lol) Had a faint positive the end of October, was confirmed with Betas early November. So why it was in there to begin with floored me, this OB put one in there based on the day she "thought" I should have had a period. So frustrating My provider is a team of midwives so I won't be seeing that OB again. THANKFULLY! It was only because I had a scare in the beginning Her approach and everything is just not my style, it pretty much confirmed why I love going to midwives.

It sounds like the ladies in the office wrote down a date for the benefit of scheduling your appointments. Guy sounds like a dingbat. Glad you don't have to see him anymore!

I know it is easy to get aggravated when you know your body more than the Dr. does. But remember that a due date is just a suggestion, a guideline. Your baby will come when it is ready and not a day sooner. Just try to resist rolling your eyes everytime it is mentioned by the Dr and be happy that you know yourself well enough that you know they are not right.
