So, last night around 6 pm i started leaking fluid. It was pink and quickley started turning bright red... Needless to say, it was horrifying...

I spent all night lying awake in complete terror. I wanted to go to the ER, but my RE told me that he thought it would be okay, and to come in in the morning.
I could NOT see how it was going to be okay with all that blood....

This morning we drove straight to the office and prayed for it to be okay.

Some how, the babies were still chugging away. Heart rates BOTH 179 bpm. Baby A was measuring 7 weeks 2 days ( I am 7 weeks 4 days) so ofcourse that freaked me out... But my doctor wasn't concerned... Baby B however was 7 weeks 5 days.

Beneath the babies was the source of the bleeding. Apparently one of the corners of one of the placentas is detached and pumping blood into my uterus.
It NEEDS to clot or the babies won't get their nourishment... SO I am on strict bedrest for a while...

Please pray that the babes stay strong and my bleeding gets under control. I am still pretty dang scared, but so happy to see that they are okay for now...

It was seriously the WORST day of my life... blech...

I will add pics later... as always, the babies looked perfect and cute as ever

Thanks everyone! Ever since being on bedrest the bleeding has stopped. Praying that it means the bleed inside is clotting!

I'm a lurker from the April DDC

I had the exact same thing you had and they diagnosed me as an SCH or subchrionic hematoma/hemorrhage. I started bleeding at 7 weeks, was put on bedrest and it stopped. It started again at 9 weeks. Went into ER and both times the heartbeat looked great.

I'm now 21 weeks and by my twelve/thirteen week mark, the SCH had completely healed itself up! SCH is quite common and most of them have perfect outcomes

I hope this helps ease your mind a little.

So get some hot chocolate and queue up your Netflix and take it easy mama!

WOW, thank you SO much for your response. I have been overwhelmed by how many people have had this happen and have had great out comes!!!
It really did help ease my mind.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience...

The bleeding has been stopped for over 48 hours, YAY!!! I have had a little old discharge, but if anything it was encouraging to see something other than that awful dark red blood.

Praying this means that everything is resolving itself!

You are more than welcome

It was so scary when it first happened to me. Cramping is also very common with SCH. I had it almost all of my first trimester. I think I drove my doctor's office insane with how many times I called them. Lol.

Brown blood is a good sign (I mean no blood is ever a good sign) because that means that it's old blood. With the SCH there are either two things your body will do. It will either absorb the clot OR bleed it out. Almost everyone I've talked to with this has bled it out which might be healthier for you (I dont know to tell you the truth). I stopped bleeding after 9 weeks and found out just five weeks later that we were having a boy and he is perfectly healthy. My perinatologist said the SCH normally doesn't do anything to the baby/babies that they are oblivious to it so that helped me alot!

I hope and pray your bleeding stays away!

Hi Melissa!!

Sorry I did not have the opportunity to send you well wishes earlier! I had the exact thing happen to me, it had me so scared, I know what you were going through.

Certainly give yourself some rest, as much as you can, mine has gotten smaller and no more of that brown mucus tmi stuff lol
Stay hydrated and off your feet. Congrats on both your lovely babes and take care of yourself!!
