View Poll Results: How often do you work out on average?
I worked out tonight for the second time since being pregnant and i seriously don't know why i don't do this everyday! It feels soooo good afterwards and i remember that is a huge reason i felt much healthier during my last pregnancy. I feel committed to making it a habit from now on.
It got me wondering how often do you all currently work out?
I'm a 6-7 days a week exerciser. I run most days (usually 6 days and one rest day of running), pilates and yoga twice a week, dancing twice a week, and strength training twice a week. It feels so much better for me, physically and mentally, when I'm active. Of course, my runs and strength training can't be quite as intense as pre-pregnancy, and I have to modify some of my pilates and yoga, but it's just a part of my lifestyle. I'm thankful that my MW and DR encourage and love the fact that I'm active during my pregnancies!!!
Sadly not as much as I should. I wouldnt say I am in bad shape and I love to walk and eat healthy but as soon as I get pregnant I just want to sleep the 1st tri away! Lately I have been getting into the habit of walking nightly with the hubby and DD and LOVE it! I am pretty active all day long anyways since I am a SAHM and have 4 other kids who I have to take care of (I have an inhome day care). I am always on the move! But now that I am feeling less sick I will be getting back in the swing of exercising. I will be glad for the summer so I can go swimming! Although the thought of a swim suit and me in it is enough to make me think I am fine being pale and staying inside! And Katie feel free to lie to the rest of us next time!!!! lol You are amazing!
Location: Just moved to Pineville, LA from Fort Polk, LA
I was working out reg 3 times a week from 5 times, i lost 130 lbs and maintained 130lb weight for 3 mons before i got pregnant, then i stopped bc it took me 10 years to get pregnant for the first time i put myslef n basically bed rest for weeks and didnt lift a finger. i was spotting and cramping and in the er alot with threatened mis. I quit smoking new years when i found out and gained 30 lbs after going from 1k cal to 1500 a day no smoking or exercise, but its ok for now, ive been thinkig about going walking more since im more active now and have energy and no bleeding for long time.
oops i meant i went to 2500 cal a day on docs orders
I work out every day for a least 2 hours. The intensity has come down since I have been pregnant and the runs not as long, but the elliptical and stationary bike are great. I love my workouts, I would go crazy without them!
DH and I joined a gym for the first time in December - right about the time I got pregnant, though of course I didn't know it. I went from being completely sedentary to working out 4 times a week - cardio and strength training. My backaches disappeared and I felt so much better about myself. I kept it up as much as possible during January and February, but the nausea and cramping in the evenings would often keep me from going. March has been better and I hope by April I'll be back to a similar (but less intense) routine as December. I really don't want to gain a bunch of weight with this baby, so I'll do what I can to burn any excess calories off!
I usually do it 5x a week with Tuesdays and Sundays off. Right now I'm struggling with motivation because my workout buddy is sick and has all the workout DVDs and weights at her house. So I did a Wii active workout last night - not as good, but I felt better for actually doing something for the first time in a week!
I don't really "work out" but I do have a small farm so I am constantly doing outside chores (I don't carry hay or water buckets anymore, DH wont allow it! LOL). If I incorporated working out in my schedule I would never have an ounce of energy! I stay pretty healthy just from the work I do. Its almost planting season so here in the next couple weeks I am going to be even more exhausted!
