I had my routine checkup yesterday and went to a different OB then the first appt. She didn't listen to me AT ALL. I told her that I'm really nauseous, all the time. I try to eat small meals throughout the day and I end up throwing up. I eat when I'm hungry and I'm still nauseous throughout the day but I don't throw up. So she tells me "it's best to eat small meals throughout the day, so try that and see if that helps with the nausea." Didn't I just say that makes me feel worse and causes me to throw up? lol. Then I told her what didn't work and what not and she said "Generally morning sickness goes away around 14 weeks so that's good news" so I reply "I'm 16 weeks!" And to this, she shrugged like "oh well, it's not me so I don't care." Then she asked when my anatomy ultrasound was and asked if we would be finding out the sex. I spent the next 5 minutes trying to defend MY choice to find out what MY baby is. She tried to convince me not to find out because there are very few surprises in life and the births where you don't know are the most exciting! I'm sorry, but the birth of MY baby will be exciting for ME regardless. My friend was in the room with me (figured if it took awhile for the doctor then I'd at least have someone to talk to lol) and she couldn't believe the doctor... I thought maybe it was just me but she said "No, I don't even think she realized you were pregnant" LOL... she of course was kidding but agreed that the doctor didn't listen to anything I said and had no interest in helping me.

Oh, wow!!! I can't believe that. Sorry for the bad appt in general. I would definitely avoid her from here on out. There's no excuse for any dr to treat a patient that way, but especially when a woman's pregnant. This is a time when each woman deserves to be treated with patience, understanding, and care. ugh! That same thing happened to me one time when I was pregnant with DD and my doc was out on a delivery. It is so frustrating! The only good thing about it is that you learn A- you never want to see that Dr. again, and B- makes you appreciate your Dr. more! lol
Avoid her and tell your doc you'd rather not be delivered by her or you'll be stuck with someone who doesn't listen to you while you're pushing your baby out. Conversely, perhaps she was just having an "off" day and isn't usually like that...perhaps she was preoccupied or had something major going on...either way, I"m not too sure I'd wait to find out. I'd try to avoid her if possible...and find out when she's on call and pray you don't go in to labor on one of her days.
