For those of you who know the gender, has the old wive's tale been true for you?

Is the old wives tale that a faster heart rate is a girl? Because this baby is 100 % without a doubt a boy, and his heart rate was 174 last time, which is high. So I dont think this one is true, from my experience.

Not at first, but it's starting to become more true. I think they say a faster heartrate = girl, slower heartrate= boy.

Last time my little guy was at 154 bpm. That was about a week and a half ago.

I should be getting my doppler today and will check it again tonight.

2/3 of my boys had high heart rates. Always 158 or even up to 200 for short bursts. This baby too, has had a higher heart rate, so I'm not getting my girl hopes up. My other boy had lower 130's ish.

It was true for me. All three of my boys were around the 160s at 8-9wks, and had settled into the higher 140s by 16wks. This little girl was 172 at 9wks and settled in the mid-150s to low 160s by 16wks. When I check with doppler at home, it's usually consistently the high 150s to about 160.

With my son he never went above 150 every doctors appointment..

This first time the heart beat has been 175 then a week later 160, 5 weeks later 120 and 4 days later 150. So not sure this time.

I am thinking that if the old wives tale holds water I'm in for boy #3.

this time, it was 168 at 8 weeks, 164 and 12 weeks and 150 at 16 weeks.

My boys were both between 148 and 155 after 12 weeks.
