I FINALLY got my ultrasound date. I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed because I don't have to travel now because they got me into a place here in town that does the high level ultrasounds, BUT I was originally told I could go in during my 18th week of pregnancy which would be the week of April 16th. I was SOOO looking forward to it, and now they are booked up until May 7th!!! Aaaahhh! I've been really patient about it until now. It seeems like SO far away! I will be 21 weeks when we FINALLY find out. AND to top it all off DH said it may be hard for him to get time off in May since his boss is going on vacation for 2 weeks then. I told him I WILL NOT get the ultrasound without him...we have had too many ups and downs in this pregnancy and I can't deal with that alone. Sigh...I know 3 extra weeks isn't that big of a deal, but i'm just disappointed to have to wait that much longer. Thanks for listening I just really needed someone to whine to for a minute

that is a bummer

I am so jealous of everyone finding out so early. I don't go till April 25th... it is taking forever to get here!

I'm sorry, Amy! I know what it's like and when you're so excited/anxious/whatever, an extra three weeks does feel like a long time. I hope it passes more quickly than you're expecting!

Sorry you have longer to wait I understand how difficult it is to wait! With my son we didn't find out until around 24 weeks because of insurance reasons. THAT was hard to do!! If i remember correctly several ladies here are finding out in the beginning of May so you're not alone!

I think part of it is every ultrasound we have had has been a big shocking experience for us. 1st one we found out it was twins, 2nd one we found out we lost one of the twins, NOW this one will be to make sure the 1 left is healthy and it scares me to death to think we will find something wrong (which I know I shouldn't worry about, but I still can't help it). Whew...thank goodness for our cruise next week! Hopefully I can relax and take my mind off of things for a few days at least

Oh, you totally have the right to whine! Ugh- the countdown to ultrasound drags along as slowly as the two week wait when you are trying to concieve!

Waiting just sucks, sorry you have to do more of it!

We aren't finding out until birth...so think of 23 more weeks! Ugh it kills me cuz I wanna go shopping! Nothing wrong with wanting to find out earlier and that sounds so frustrating. Must be frustration week-I'm frustrated too!

I totally understand - we won't be finding out until 21 weeks as well - which is the middle of May, about 7 weeks away.

Ok, hopefully this will make all of you feel better.

I went in for my appointment yesterday, I was 17 weeks, 1 day. There was an ultrasound specialist there and my doctor let me get seen by her because when my doctor tried to tell my daughter's gender at 16 weeks, she couldn't tell (thought it was a boy).

She (the u/s specialist) looked...and looked...and looked...at first thought it was a boy. Then thought it was a girl. Finally concluded she can't tell one way or the other.

So now I'm waiting for my anatomy scan which will be 4/30. LOL I don't really mind waiting another few weeks because this is our last kid and it seems to "final" to find out, but I'm still surprised we weren't able to find out while everyone else seems to have no problem. But I guess the longer you wait, the more chance you have of finding out, especially at the fancy anatomy scan.

My u/s date is also May 7th. They wait until you're 20 weeks here. It sucks. And it's likely they won't tell me the gender (they don't do it here.) Usually, if you want to find out, you have to travel 4.5 hours into the city and pay to have it done. I hope the time flies for you and that you get good news on your u/s day!

Thanks guys! I've been having a very emotional couple of days and I think it just hit me wrong. DH talked to his boss today and said that he HAD to have that time off and told him it was our big ultrasound. Luckily his boss' wife is also pregnant (about a month or so behind me) so he is being understanding, and says they will work something out to where he will definately get to come. Takes a little of the stress off of having to wait the extra time. Now, I just have to find something to keep me occupied for the next few weeks

Amy, could you call the imaging center and ask that you be notified if there are any cancellations where they could get you in earlier, or could you call every few days to check for cancellations once you hit 18 weeks and see if they could book you in a spot where someone else cancelled? Just a thought.....

That was the very 1st thing I did They said they have NO openings here or at the hospital 2 hours away. The only problem with getting a cancelation is then trying to get DH off of work for the scan. Since DH's boss said he would work out something for the 7th I'll just be patient, even though I really wish they had scheduled it earlier so I could get in during my 18th week like they said in the begining
