ok, so it has been 4 years since I have had a level II anatomy scan, when I scheduled my appointment I asked if it would be about an hour - that is how long both of them were with my boys.

And the nurse looked at me like I had 3 heads.

So how long are they now a days (yeah I', an old geezer haha!)

Oh I dont know...seems like they were about 25 minutes or so.....assuming baby cooperates and everything checks out easily the first time they measure...maybe longer if baby is tough to pin down or she is unsure of the measurements....

my level II with Keira was really fast! I'm thinking maybe it was 15 minutes or so? It seemed like we were hardly in there at all. And then the tech was threatening to kick out my friend out because she kept making me laugh and the tech couldn't get his readings from my shaking belly!

The U/S itself took about 25-30 minutes and it felt like a long time, but we also waited for about 20-35 minutes, so all in all it took about an hour.

I haven't had a level II ultrasound yet, but I was reading that they usually take around an hour So I have no clue. Our level II ultrasound is scheduled for May 7th but I'm sure you will have yours before then. Feel free to update so I will know what to expect at mine

I had another one today, it took about an hour so I think you should plan for at least 45 mins

Mine took about about an hour but my uterus contracted causing the placenta to appear to be closer to the cervix, so when the main doctor saw this while checking the techs u/s photos he asked her to confirm it was caused by a contraction. So we had to wait almost 15 minutes for the uterus to relax so that could be confirmed. It was strange watching the uterus relax and re expand! Also the baby would not open her legs!! So, the tech had me lay on my side and left the room for almost 10 minutes to give baby time to change positions. Lol, I had some Starbursts in my purse and ate 2 of them while drinking my bottled water and baby became very active for us When the tech came back baby had completely rolled over and was wide awake for us. That's when I got the u/s pic of baby laying on her side and you could just see the back of her head and her back!

TIP: My appointment was at 9 in the morning so we left at around 8 and I hadn't ate breakfast yet. Baby was pretty much sleeping other than the occasional kick or arm movements. I had wished I had took advice I had read before from women who said drink a glass of orange juice before you go, so that baby is nice and active!! I almost didn't get to find out the baby's gender!! So, it is probably a good idea to make sure you've ate or try the orange juice trick if your appointment is early

So, you never know how long it might take! Mine would have been about 20-25 minutes if it weren't for those 2 things happening!!

I had a level II with DS1 about 6 yrs ago and it was about 45 or so min. The tech got all the measurements, took about 20 or so minutes, then the dr came in, looked at her readings, and looked over some more stuff himself via U/S while showing us it took another 20-25 min. I'd say plan an hour and any less time is a bonus if you get it.

With my son it was about 20-30 minutes. That was with my giggling almost the whole time and the tech telling me to stop, AND Jace moving around everywhere like a crazed little monkey
