Seems like a really good idea to me. I can easily make my own baby food and know it's healthyier for baby without any additives like store bought jars have. I think we'll be buying one.

It's $100, but you get so much with it... including the steamer thingie and the original normal sized bullet. It'd be worth it considering how much you'd save in the long run. Plus, I had just a regular food processor.chopper with DD and It never mide the food fine enough when she was really small.

I made a lot of DD's baby food, not because the store bought brands have additives, because actually, a lot of them don't, but because it was SO much cheaper. I bought jar food as she got older just because it was more convenient for me in that in-between phase!

Honestly, I think the "baby bullet" is a total waste of money! I used a plain ole' mini food processor. I think it was $15-$20 and I got it at Wal-mart. It worked just fine! I stored the food in ice trays and popped them out when it was time to use them! We did get a regular Magic Bullet for our wedding and the thing is AWESOME. I use it for everything! If you are going to spend the money, just get that one and skip the special "baby" bullet, because the regular sized one comes with the small sized ones just like the baby bullet. Not only will you be able to use it for baby food, but you can use it for other things too, like shakes, scrambled eggs, salsa, etc etc!

Anywho- just my 2 cents! But yes, I agree with you, making homemade baby food is awesome, and for me, it was a rewarding feeling!

-- edited, just to say that I posted this before I saw you added to your post! The link didn't work so I didn't realize that it comes with the regular sized bullet too, in which case, considering usually the regular bullet is already $100 (I think) it would be totally worth the money LOL soooo in that case, why the heck not just get both! lol.

LOL If the baby one was a hundred itself I wouldn't even bother, but with all the stuff that comes with it, it's worth it.

I actually totally agree! They mark up their stuff so high anyways, I know when we registered for ours it was close to $100 so considering you get all of it for that, I totally would. We seriously use our regular one all the time.

I was going to say the same thing, Danielle!!!! I also made all the baby food for all of my boys. For me, a plain ole' mini food processor and the blender worked wonders!!! I know some people who even carried a mini coffee-grinder with them so they could make food whenever they went out to eat for their babies. Most places sell something very similar to the baby bullet if you're just looking for that sort of design. It's usually marketed as a single serve blender or something like that. Anyway, I agree that making your own food is healthier, and cheaper! I liked it because I could even use my pumped breastmilk to use to up the calories and nutrition of some of the veggies instead of just water. They really loved their sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, etc pureed with a little breastmilk!

I made the baby food for both of mine, and I used my stick blender. no need to spend so much on something marketed just for baby food.

I think its a great to! in fact I already bought my baby bullet ha ha. I wanted to get it from the baby bullet website but ended up getting it at babies r us, i also got the steamer and the expansion pack thing but I want more of the freezer containers so I'm thinking of buying them from the baby bullet website. I decided to get it though because it is going to be sooooo much cheaper and I'm not a huge fan of the additives and stuff they put in the jar food and to me, the fresher the better!

Im making all my daughters food now and I don't own the bullet..You might consider just buying a hand held blender(boat motor) I find I make food in suck large batches that the bullet would take forever..

I made baby food for DS the same way as other ladies have-- steamed or baked food, put it in my food processor with a tiny bit of liquid, put it in ice cube trays until frozen, and then store in ziplock baggies. So easy, and so much cheaper than buying "baby food."

I like the idea of making my own and I have to an extent with all my kids( I just use tools I already have in the kitchen), but I like Earths Best organic baby food, and keep a bunch of it around. It doesn't have a bunch of additives.

I just used a stick blender to mash up whatever we were having for dinner that night. I don't think I would buy a specialist piece of equipment like that, but I am kind of a cheapskate

I have the magic bullet that I used with Bella and loved it! I also have a stick blender that I didn't think to use!

I used the food containers last time but they seemed to be a pain. I may use the ice cube tray this time around. If I use my food containers, it would be for fresh food in the fridge, not to freeze.

I too used jarred food but it was always earth's best or Gerber organics. I try to use organics with my kiddos as much as possible and it's easier to control when they are that little than when they are a toddler.

I did baby led weaning with my first and will do the same this time around. I'm really just too lazy to do the spoon feeding hahah

I would agree that if you want to make baby food it would probably be better to just use a regular old food processor though. Unless you want a magic bullet and the baby thing was just a perk
