So my Sonoline fetal doppler has become my best friend and worst enemy. It's a great calming tool for me with everything I'm going through to check my little Isaacs' hb on a regular basis.

However, most of the time his hb seems to "skip" a beat on the 4th or 6th beat, like clockwork. Does anyone else experience this with their Sonoline doppler?

I saw my regular OB for my 16 week check up and she used just a doppler and caught an occasional "skip" but told me not to worry. She said to only worry if his little hb is over 200. Then I met with the high risk OB about a week ago and she did a complete u/s (including 3D) and the u/s didn't pick up any skip at all and she listened for a good 3-5 minutes.

What the heck is going on

My DDs both had skips in utero. It was there super obvious sometimes and then gone the next. We have to realize that technology is not an exact science and has its errors. The fact that your level 2 didn't pick it up after that long study is quite reassuring! Don't obsess over it but I if you notice it again it can't hurt to bring up at your next OB appointment

I have a Sonoline B doppler. I haven't heard the baby's heartbeat skip. I think it could be due to the baby moving. I agree that since everything was fine at during your u/s that you more than likely have nothing to worry about. Plus that was a high risk OB so I am sure they were extra thorough during the scan they did!

Maybe bring your doppler with you during your next regular OB appointment and after they listen using their doppler you could compare the results using yours. That could tell you if there is possibly a default within the doppler.
