I could add in some other choice words to the title, but will keep it clean! LOL.

I had irregualar contractions Thursday. They were not anything to call or get concerned about. They would get as close as 10 mins apart and space back out. As per the course of things, they stopped for the most part when I went to bed. I had a few throughout the night, but nothing really significant.

They picked up Friday morning. 2 hours of laying down drinking water didn't stop them. Figured a shower might stop them. Nope. So I had some errands to run. I figured, well if its the real deal maybe it will help them get into a better pattern. Around noon, they were 10 minutes apart and staying that way regardless of activities. Called the midwife because we live an hour away without rush hour traffic and it was 3pm. If things were going to get exciting, we had to leave within the next hour or risk being suck in traffic for 2-2 1/2 hours. Midwife said we should be fine to stay home and relax...until things got more intense and had to work through the contractions. Which should give rush hour time to die down. Fair enough. By 9pm, I realized they were 5-7 minutes apart and getting more intense. Not breathing through all of them, but a few I was. Each hour they felt stronger and more intense which is what they want to see. It was getting late, so I decided to head to bed and go to sleep (or attempt). Then, nothing. They stopped suddenly. I got some good sleep that is about all I can say.

I am so upset right now. How the heck does that just happen? How? I called out of work even. I *never* call out of work. I feel the contractions picking back up a little bit. So I'm going to go take a walk to the park with DD (2 miles walking) and go to the pool. See how I feel after that. Hopefully, things will get exciting and my body just really needed some rest last night. I know I should rest, but I just have an intense desire to "do something" besides sit around and wait. I know I'm making progress and I know these are not BH contractions.

I see this happen with my clients all the time. Heck I've been going through it myself for a week now. There's at least one point in every day where I'll get ready just in case, because it gets that intense. Sometimes it keeps up through the night, sometimes I sleep through it.

It's hard when this happens, because it's difficult to make plans or work. I went ahead into work the other day even though I had this going on, and luckily it didn't get too bad during my meetings. But yeah, I feel ya.

That is frustrating. Especially since it makes it harder to know when it's the full real deal and you should go in.

Its frustrating but they warned us that was totally normal during prenatal class. My mom told me when she was getting really close she had an intense urge to just do something, very restless, and walked all the way across city...

Try to conserve that energy, you'll need it, and I'm sure baby will be on the way soon!

Lurking from August DDC. I had that with my son really badly. Everybody kept telling me it was false labor but everything I'd read about false labor didn't gel. My contractions went on for two and a half days and I think would have continued in that fashion if my water hadn't broken. They never stopped and stayed pretty intense for a long time but they kinda plateaued, didn't get worse. I had them when I slept, had to knock myself out with Benadryl to get any sleep but still woke up a lot to breath through them. It was miserable and I really feel for you. However, they did eventually throw me into labor so maybe that's what will happen for you. Fingers crossed.

I'm glad I'm not alone, but I really hope this doesn't last a week or more.

All I know right now is that baby is a lot lower. And it hurts. Which is great, you know moving in the right direction and more pressure on my cervix. BUT, if she isn't going to come for another week or so its not going to be fun!

And I really worry with work. I have a very active job, and have to drive. Just worries me about having to drive while at work or getting stuck at work.

You're almost 41 weeks, right? I doubt this will go on much longer

Almost 41 by my original due date. 40 weeks by the adjusted (the one we go by). I am planning to ask about nst and checking the placenta because it worries me. Not that one week makes a huge difference...but yeah.

I keep telling myself that my body knows what it's doing...I just need to let it happen and not let my fears and anxiety take control.
