So, I was planning on introducing the bottle next week (3 weeks old).
When did or will you introduce the bottle? Pros? Cons?
I just don't want to murder SO while I'm up breastfeeding and he's snoozing away or huffing and puffing because we're making too much noise. At least this way he can take a turn. I've already got a little stash of pumped milk ready to go.
I think we did it toward the end of the third week. I thought maybe I should have waited longer, according to what the books say, but he did amazing with both the bottle and pacifier. I noticed his latch changed slightly after introducing bottles, but it never caused us a problem. He still doesn't enjoy the bottle and would rather have a breast, but he takes it now and then.
Hubby taking a turn at night is awesome, but I will say the first time or two, wow was I engorged by the next feeding! So now I usually have him take an early morning one, because those are closer together.
We introduced a bottle the first week. Same with a paci. She takes all without complaint. As long as she has food when hungry she doesn't care where it comes from and if she's not hungry and wants to suck as long as she has a paci she's happy!
