I don't know how old your baby is but baby's senses peak around the 3rd week of life. Gas bothers them a lot because they are getting used to the new sensations in their belly. You can do a couple of things to prevent gassiness ( it can decrease it but not take it away all together ). Make sure you burp your baby well after night feeds and make sure he latches on well and does not swallow a lot of air.
While I was tempted to believe that foods most probably cause gassiness I have learned with my second that it is probably not the reason. I hope that you milk elimination helps though. I went back to my coffee and milk and my baby has some good and some bad days, no matter what I eat or drink. They say things like tomatoes, cabbage, coffee, milk, sweets increase gassiness.. You can try eliminating them.
I have read that it is totally normal that babies are gassy and it will go away. From my own experience 3 weeks was the worst time.
We have tried simethicone drops, tummy rubs, and leg pumps... George is also allergic to dairy, and I've cut beef, soy, and now I need to cut beans apparently. The dairy was our biggest source of problems. We also are dealing with a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance which also makes baby gassy and fussy.
Oh, an overactive let down reflex and over supply is also what I'm dealing with and those also lead to gas.
