So I tried out the Calma bottle today. I was really skeptical that Rowan would take it because he seems to hate all paci's and won't even latch on my finger. He's also a lazy latcher (a problem with all of my kids at first because of my strong milk flow). All he takes is my boob or his fingers. He chewed on the bottle nipple for the first min or so. But unlike most bottles, this didn't let any milk out, baby has to latch and suck to get the milk to flow through the nipple. I blew in his face to get him to swallow and he latched and sucked and took down the whole bottle! I'm so stoked, because it's the only bottle nipple we have right now, lol. I was really impressed with how it worked too, and didn't give him extra gas either.

For those of you wondering, this is what I'm talking about:
Calma – Feeding Device

I just wanted to say, nursing at the keyboard? I know my spelling/auto correct has gotten CRAZY now that I have a boob attachment. Mine's sleeping at the moment though. LOL

Interesting. Xavier won't suck on my fingers either where as most other babies I've been around will. And he also has a lazy latch especially on the right side because my flow is so forceful on that side. Might need to look into it. How does it compare to the breastflow bottles? I have a set of those.

My third used the breastflow bottles, and I'll say it's definitely a different latch to use that bottle. The nipples in the calma have better ventilation and the flow is totally different. Both of the bottles are so totally different, it's hard to compare them.

OK. I am hoping that it's close enough that we won't have an issue going back and forth between breast and bottle. I haven't opened my set of Breastflow bottles yet though, so if they aren't actually recommended then I may be able to return them. I also have a set of Platex drop in nursers and Nuk (shower gifts) that I haven't opened.
