so this morning i had an OB appointment since im overdue.
when i got there i had to do the usual pee in a cup and i had a little tiny bit of bloody show.
this morning about 8 i started having mild contractions that felt weird so i got pretty excited when i saw "red"
i told my doc and she checked me and still i was just barely a 2.
then she checked my fluids via ultrasound and did an AFI (no idea what that is...but it was something in the ultrasound)
then she hooked me up for an NST for a bit.
when she first hooked me up there wasnt much. then about 10 mins in i started having some painful contractions one right on top of the other. they were very big on the read out.
my OB came back in and was surprised. she called OB and told them she was sending me over because she was pretty sure my labor was starting.
well of course i wasnt expecting this. i was expecting to talk about induction today. So of course i had nothing packed.
So i quickly ran home since i dont live very far away from the hospital, and packed up all my stuff to go.
i headed in to the OB and they hooked me up to the monitors and sure enough my contractions were just strong as can be but spacing out a little.
they didnt leave on the monitors long before they let me up to go walk around because i was so uncomfortable.
and then it happened. i was laying in bed taking a break and the nurse said she was going to gather what she needed to check me and all of a sudden i felt a little trickle-ish-like-gush.
startled the nurse checked me and it wasnt my waters but my "bloody show" i thought i had earlier was nothing compared to this. it was disgusting. i got up and walked somemore and then had to pee and OH MY GOD I BLOODY SHOW DISGUSTING! it took 3 wipes to get it all. this nasty ginormous bloody glob...iccckkk by far the grossest thing my body has ever done.
so i walked some more.
they hooked me back up to see what was happening and my contractions were (still are) off the charts. except they were still spaced.
so my doctor checked me again and still i was only a 2
so i made the choice to go home and rest up and labor a bit.
ive been at it all day and i am getting worn out.
i just hope this picks up!!!!
my back hurts REALLY bad...constantly and then much worse during contractions
fingers crossed!

Sounds great! The shower and hands and knees can help with the back pain. Is someone there who can put pressure on your hips or lower spine for you if you need it?

Hope this is it!! I second what Que said, the double hip squeeze was a life saver during my labor.

Oh but there is so much more to come. You may want to avoid looking into the pan with the placenta and cord.

And if you give birth in a tub, don't look at the water after you get out lol

That's the coolest part! My doctor even showed us the amniotic sac.
Good luck Maddie! I'm glad you waited for your body to do its thing on its own. ELV's!!!
