I had contractions last night that were incredibly painful and regular. I waited and timed them for hours until they were intense enough and long enough, and changing positions didn't make them go away at all. Then I went upstairs to get my things to go to the hospital and by then I couldn't even walk without stooping over, but while I was tossing my last minute things in my bag they started slowing down. I decided to go to bed to see what happened and I only had a few through the night and now nothing.
So all that pain yesterday afternoon and night means nothing!!
I was honestly in tears it hurt so bad. How could that have been false labour? I know real contractions and that was it! I really thought I'd have him in my arms by now.
The same thing happened to me all week before I went into labor. Honestly, I believe that entire week was real true labor for me. It probably is for you too. I dilated to about 5 before the day I actually had the baby, and that day, labor was no worse than the other days I was having contractions. It was so odd. I am thankful that I was able to get some rest here and there. But it was also the most emotionally wrecking experience to keep having contractions and wake up day after day and not have a baby yet. Keep your spirits up, it's not all for nothing.I'm sure your body is doing so many things: getting baby into position, thinning/dilating your cervix, priming baby's lungs, etc. I pray that this will turn out a baby for you asap
The same thing happened to me too two days before I had her. I also think it did something because I have a hard time believing as a FTM that in 5 hours I dilated from 1 to 8cm. Hopefully you'll go soooon!
I'm so sorry The same thing happened several times before true labor set in. Every time was a huge let down. When true labor started it felt just like the false alarms too. It was the bloody show that clued me in that it might be real.
Awww, Renee, that's such a tease! I'm sorry to hear that
I hope things happen today for you and that they continue. I'm sure the contractions were preparing you and baby...hopefully it will mean less work once you are in active labour I'm sure you'll be holding him very very soon and I have my fingers crossed that its without induction.
Baby boy - you're mommy is anxious to meet you!!! Please make your appearance soon!
