I've used Infacol, which I found worked far better for my son than gripe water. Yes, it did seem to help her burp when she was having a really fussy day the other day and was unable to get her wind up.
Rowan has a hard time swallowing the gripe water. He spits most of it out and so I can't tell if it's doing very much. I have used Hyland's colic tablets and they work great! I use them whenever I feel gas bubbles rumbling around his belly if they are making him grunt or fussy. I don't use gas drops. I've used Hyland's Calmes Forte when he was fussy and I wasn't sure if it was related to gas or not (and used it once when I didn't have any colic tabs).
I am a big fan of treating the reason for the problem and not just the problem. So I have been adjusting my diet here and there and his gas is going away and he is sleeping MUCH better. But he does get frustrated easier in the evenings if he hasn't had a bowel movement by dinner time. He'll grunt and groan and I can feel his belly gurgling. He'll get a tablet if it makes him fussy to the point where I can't take care of the other kids.
I've been through gas drops and 3 types of gripe water (yes, I was desperate) and the only thing that seems to help is Colic Calm. I'm even over the fact that it's black and stains everything- it's nothing a spray of Oxyclean can't fix.
