So I had to take Adalyn back to the Dr today - Again. Poor girl has been to the doctors so much in these short 5 weeks, really hoping things settle down for us! I've started thinking that she has acid reflux, between her getting wiggly and sometimes fussy before she spits up, and her nightly crying fits. . . She's been spitting up since like a week old, but the crying fits started about 3 weeks ago and wiggly before spitting up started around then, too. She also doesn't really let me put her down much - Which can just be her being a mommahs girl and wanting to be held and close to me, which is mostly fine (I do have another child to care for, lol). Anyways - Doc agrees that it's probably reflux and so she's on Zantac for now. Hopefully that'll work for her so we can see a happy baby soon!
Now onto the subject. . . She weighed in at 9lbs 9oz (she was 6lb 13oz at birth, 6lb 4oz at her 2 week check up). . . Doc said that she is gaining 45 grams/day. She said she likes to see them gaining about 25 grams/day. . . So Adalyn is basically gaining almost double that. It's no wonder she's starting to look chubby - Though I think most her weight gain is in her cheeks!
Can't wait for my little one to chunk up. I miss having a chunky baby . She's a cutie.
My daughter is very similar to yours. I'm thinking it's just her personality, though, as my first was similar. Apparently, also, newborns cry on average 2 hours a day, and supposedly it peaks at 6 weeks to 3 hours a day. It made me feel better to read that. Hope she gets better soon!
