I chose Friday to do my DITLO this week. The rest of the week was super busy with the election and my oldest son's birthday and party. Fridays are pretty low key for us because we get the first half of the day to spend with dh before he teaches in the afternoon. And we try to get all of our school work mostly done earlier in the week so that we can have an easy Friday.
We started Vincent's day with having to wake him up around 7:45, which you can tell he didn't love. Friday is one of the days we can make it to church as a family, so we wait until the last minute to get him up and we just take him in his pj's.

And after mass, I had to take some photos for our parishes website, so Vincent slept on his daddy while I did that.

Not pictured..we stopped off on the way home to pray as a family.
These next two pics are of us getting some school started....the younger kids played some educational games on my iPad while I got the older two started on reading and workbooks.

Next, my five year old spilt Cheerios and had to clean them up.

During this time I was nursing Vincent for his afternoon nap, he went down around 11. Then more school and starting some laundry...

Next, this is one of my favorite times of day, when I put my 2 1/2 year old down for his nap. He loves to sing songs with me while we lay there together for about 10 minutes.

Then I heard Vincent crying and thought he was ready to wake up, but I found him crying with his eyes closed, and he wasn't consoled immediately by picking him up, so I knew he hadn't finished that nap.

So, I rocked and nursed him and he went back to sleep. Dh came in to say goodbye while I was nursing this time. He left to go teach a couple of classes.

I laid him down and he slept until 2:30,so with one interruption, he slept from 11 until 2:30....crazy, and this is not a typical day!

I then made a scavenger hunt for the older 3 to give them a fun outside activity since they were done with their school work.

This is when I snuck some bites of my sons leftover birthday cake

Since Vincent was taking his stellar nap still, I decided to deal with our messy craft supplies closet.

I put my daughter down for her nap around 2 and then Vincent woke up and we played in his room for a few minutes and I changed him into some cooler clothes since the weather had warmed our house up.

Here is Vincent helping mommy fold clothes before going downstairs to nurse.

Here he is after getting his groceries...happy and content

Here are my older two after they finished their massive lego set my oldest had gotten for his birthday two days before..they were thrilled with themselves.

Vincent spent some playtime in his jumperoo for a bit

He likes tummy time, so he did that for a little bit after the jumperoo got old, but tummy time didn't last long either

I swaddled him up to try for a nap in the bouncey chair, but he wasn't having it,so I nursed him and he dozed a little.

But that didn't work for long either, so we started pacing the floors. The 3rd nap of the day is often a fight, and he really didn't end up taking one really. We just paced until 6 when daddy came home and took over.

Normally we do breakfast for dinner on Friday nights but we were out of eggs, and since I had misplaced my phone, I couldn't call dh to tell him we needed them. So, dh packed all five kids into the van and went to get pizza. It was nice after pacing the floor with a nearly 20 lb baby for several hours, to have the house to myself for 30 minutes, so I watched an episode of "call the midwife" on PBS.org while they were gone. And, since my dining table was still covered in the beloved lego set, we sprawled out over the dining room floor for our pizza/salad dinner.

The kids got ready for bed, and I nursed Vincent to sleep and just let him comfort nurse to make sure he was nice and out of it. I think we laid him in his bed around 9:30 ish.
So, there you have it! This was a very stress-free day for us. The kids were fairly compliant and kept themselves busy. Not everyday is quite so easy

Our oldest just turned 7, then 5 1/2, then our girl is 4, then almost 2 1/2, and then Vincent.

Yes, he is for sure a chubber bubber! In hindsight, I realized I didn't document his first feeding of the day in my DITLO, but then I realized you only have to take one look at him to see he is definitely not starving. It's comical bathing him with all those creases

You must have the patience of a saint. I can barely manage 2, much less 5. They are beautiful and you seem so scheduled & organized! Thanks for sharing this!
