DH and I haven't had much of a sex life lately because of it! Will the discomfort go away?? Please tell me it won't be like this forever... It's not unbearable but definitely uncomfortable. Any advice? (it almost feels like it's completely dry down there, but it's not)

Sorry if this is TMI. I was going to post in the nest but thought maybe others who don't have access, or don't check it often might be able to help, or be going through the same thing.

This time around DH and I haven't really DTD as much as we would have by now. Actually we've only done it once. It was way more painful for me than it has ever been. The only advice I have is to use lots of really really good lube. Get some Astroglide. And yes it will get better. Some stuff may have changed since you had a baby so certain positions may no longer be comfortable but you'll figure it all out soon and be back to mostly normal in that department.

I second the astroglide. I waited til 10w to try because I was scared but it really hasn't been uncomfortable for me, just a little different. When we DTD the other night though, I felt a little more pain and pressure in my abdomen, which I'm guessing is because my uterus is still shrinking and shifting back. I'm sure it will get better with time.

*lurking*

Are you breastfeeding? If so, your hormones are at least partly to blame for the way it feels. It took until I quit BFing last time until it felt comfortable without a bucket of lube

After having my son, it got better after I weaned him... Breastfeeding lowers estrogen, which causes the dry feeling down there.

We use Astroglide but our OB suggested almond oil. Might try that. :)

Yes, Aubrey, it's still kind of painful for me, not even just uncomfortable.

Almond oil... very intriguing.

If you had stiches, it made it smaller down there and you'll have to stretch back out (lots of lube will help). It took at least 20 times for it to not feel like sandpaper for me.

I still have some discomfort on one side but it is getting better every time. The dryness is getting better as I am getting more relaxed since it hurts less and I am not so scared of having pain.

I guess this is the only good thing about having an emergency c-section. With my son it was painful until almost a year later. Now that I think about it it did get better after I weaned, but it definitely took awhile after that for me to feel like normal.

im having the same problem - my sex drive has gone way down because its just uncomfortable dtd, my bff says its a breastfeeding thing and it "dries you out" down there - its meant to be one of those natural contraceptives, your body trying to prevent another pregnancy whilst you have a small baby but it SUCKS *** .

I hate to tell you this but I have really bad pain on one side where there is scar tissue and this is from my son...........who is 26 months old. We've had sex such few times it's a miracle we even had our daughter. It hurts SO much and DH is being very patient......but yeah. 26 months. Hence the c-section!!

I have no idea. We haven't at all. I had a c-section, but that was after the forceps failed. I have no idea what, if anything, the forceps may have done. Wish I knew! (Anyone sensing some bitterness lol)
