I have just started getting Elias used to my finger in his mouth so today I started 'brushing' his teeth. I used a soft wash cloth and warm water and just rubbed along his teeth and gums. I noticed that the two bottom teeth kind of looked like in between the two, it was a bit colored? Maybe it's just the light, shadows or the gums but it looked kind of orange or pink-ish. Anyone else have this or am I just being paranoid? I'd think it's kind of early for him to be getting build up, isn't it? Just wondering.

Micah doesn't have teeth yet but my dentist told me to do exactly what you are doing. Every night I "brush" Micah's gums with a washcloth over my finger and warm water. I started doing it when he was like 3 months old and he LOVES it!

That sounds like it might be soothing for Michaela. She's fussing over her mouth a lot but no teeth yet! (so I haven't used a brush yet either).

I started this week with Gerber's Nuk finger brush and toothpaste (fluoride free).
FIL is a dentist and said just to gently massage gums/teeth, and no need to overdo it.

I was thinking of doing the washcloth rub... Leo is still toothless but I think that is a good way to get him used to it.

We start brushing as soon as teeth pop in. He gets brushed right before bedtime. My daughter has naturally yellower teeth than the other kids. I've actually been meaning to talk to her dentist because her teeth chip easy too. It is starting to be an issue for her confidence because grandparents and everyone keep asking her what happened to one of her teeth. Nothing happen, they just chip easily on anything. Last time I asked her dentist, he said he wasn't going to do anything about it, that kids teeth are just "soft" but that's crap. These are her permanent teeth and I want her to have pretty teeth. Not chipped up redneck teeth, lol.
