Connor had his 6 month shot today and I don't know if it's because he hasn't slept much today and we were off our routine or what the heck is going on, but I've been trying to get him to sleep for over 6 hours now.

He fell asleep right after the shot, slept in the car on the way home, was up for a bit and then fell asleep on the couch beside me for a while until his big sister got noisy and woke him up. She's woken him up twice just after I got him to sleep and now I can't get him to settle down no matter what I do.

Is this something anyone else has experienced after shots? I mean he's totally happy. He's been talkative, laughing, playful and cuddly but I can tell he's tired but refuses to sleep!

6 month shots were a doozy. We had sleep trouble for almost a week. Not sure if there wasn't another component though.

Story of my life! I have no advice, I just go with it. When he gets off-kilter, it usually takes a few days to get him back to better sleeping habits. But I try to get him to at least have quiet time (ie in his swing no toys, in my lap just chilling) to help him get back on track.

We don't have 6-month shots here, nothing until 1yr now. Michaela has been more sleepy in general after the three shots she has had.

May I add it's very nice to see you posting Renee!

Thanks! I've been trying to post more for ages but the kids have been a bit of a handfull. Mostly Kailyn. The moment I sit down she's all over me and I'm barely even able to type right now as she's trying to wrestle the keyboard away from me.

I finally got Connor to settle down last night after I posted this. I think most of it had to do with him not having a proper nap so he couldn't settle down. He was wired. Kailyn used to conk out for hours after shots so this is different! Connor seems to be a more awake baby than Kailyn was though. Might just be the way he is.

We don't vaccinate (at all), but I have heard that is typical.

Sounds like maybe he was overtired and that's why he couldn't sleep. Glad you got him to settle down.
