So......... I guess the title pretty much sums up this post....
When is a good time to stop burping baby?
Leo is one day shy of 7 months and after he eats he is looking around a trying to reach for things that it's so difficult to keep him on my lab to burp him.... I do the over the shoulder too but then he leans back and twists and is so curious of everything around him....

I rub her back for a minute if she's had milk on my knee but mostly she burps for herself now. I would say once there on a mixture of solids and milk it's not so important...but it probably varies from baby to baby.

I'm with Melanie. I think Paxton started burping on his own around three months, meaning all i had to do was sit him up amd he'd belch. The only time i actively try to burp him now is f i know he's acting gassy.i'll just sit him up and play with him or kind of bend forward a bit until he burps. Never takes long.

I stopped burping her a long time ago, but I still catch myself supporting her head.

I stopped winding Noah about a month ago when we switched to the 6 month teats on his bottles - he doesn't spit up anymore and can get his own wind up

I still burp M, but it's easy. I just sit her up, pat, then out it comes. If she doesn't burp, no biggie, she will get it out while playing.

I haven't done it in forever either. Emily usually burps on her own. Unfortunately she still spits up quite a bit (she still has a touch of reflux). She doesn't do it when she eats solids or drinks her AR formula but she does it on the thinner formula and breast milk.

I never really had to burp Cam...he just needs to vertical and out it comes But I have caught myself patting his back, moreso for comfort than getting gas out though.

I did that for a few months after I stopped burping him. I would catch myself patti g his back even though I knew I didn't have to anymore.
