My little man has been a bit off for the last couple of days, i had put it down to teething and a bunch of other things but just as i was putting Noah down to bed i think i have figured it out. A food allergy - i gave him chicken dinner last night and scrambled eggs for breakfast yesterday morning. He has been a weed ever sonce - i googled the signs ans symptoms of a chicken/egg allergy - the poor little man has almost all of them! On their own they are little things but when put together......
A runny nose, watery/puffy eyes, a horrible cough and difficulty breathing - i had asumed a cold.
Almost constant crying, moaning and difficult to settle- i asumed teething.
Vomiting and diorreha - 5 explosive nappies (slight blood streaks in the last one), vomited twice - again teething, maybe a tummy bug.
A rash on his face - i had at first asumed ringworm but then the rash moved from his ear to his nose to his cheek in the last 3 days.

I will bring him into bed with me tonight to keep an eye on him and will be going to the doctors tomorrow. I hope he starts feeling better soon, poor little man. Actually I might ring the doctor on call, just to be safe.

Awww poor Noah. I would call honey, if only to put your own mind at rest and you never know the doctor might even suggest something that might help tonight.

That's scary! Hope you get some answers. I'd be more inclined to suspect the egg rather than the chicken given its one of the more common allergens.

Agree with above - eggs are on the list of things to avoid for a while. Good luck!

I was going to say the same thing about eggs. My pedi advised against them until age 1 just because a lot of babies have sensitivities to them until their digestive system is more mature (also they're more likely to cause allergies).

It's most likely the eggs (egg whites to be more specific). Poor guy!

Noah had blood in all 6 of his morning nappies so we spent all day in the hospital and after blood tests, urine and poo samples (that was fun) the doctors decided he had a tummy bug and sent us home.

I dont know - i asked about an allergy or an egg intolerance and was fobbed off with "babies with an allergy will be swollen in the face and wouldn't have vomiting, he has a tummy bug that is all." I'm furious that they ignored me and kept asking if Noah was an only child - basically what were saying is "your just overreacting because he your first baby." I asked in the doctors and in the hospital and was ignored both times.
And we all know that a cold doesnt disappear after 2 days - he had a runny nose, puffy eyes, a horrible cough and was having trouble breathing but wasn't chesty at all, the next day he was fine. Thats not a cold.

I can understand your frustration. I don't agree with that either. It's soo frustrating when they don't truly listen to you. We Mommies know our babies!! Sorry that happened to you guys.

What I'd he were to have a serious allergy to something and you don't know?! Ugh I hate doctors sometimes!
