DH's birthday was Saturday, so we got takeout from his favorite local restaurant. I also made a dark chocolate cake with fudge icing and toasted walnuts (his favorite). It was otherwise a pretty low-key day. Sunday was a lot more of the same, as we're not big Easter celebrators. I did get Jack a small Easter basket (and some candy for the adults ). We went out for a family jog and then hung out in our neighborhood park for a bit. So I got quite a few pics that day.
We went to our favorite steak house on Saturday for a date night We shopped a bit and had some fun. Sunday we all went to DH's parents for a nice meal. We don't really do much for Easter either, so nothing big. My parents stopped by later with a small basket from MY grandmother for Elias with candy (which DH and I will eat ) and my parents gave him some baby food and a few books.
Megan, don't your family look wonderful all dressed up in their Sunday best!
We did Easter bunny, Michaela got a few small toys, some pacis and a sippy cup as well as one chocolate Easter egg. Daniel got three chocolate eggs, some books and a twisty toy (he likes to twist things for his anxiety).
We had a roast dinner on Easter Sunday though Daniel was with his dad so it was just me, Mum, Shaun and Michaela. And Michaela wouldn't eat hers (there was cauliflower in it which was the only thing she had never had, so we figured it was that, I offered her a left-over piece of broccoli and cauliflower separately as finger food on Monday and she pulled a face at the cauliflower) and ended up eating regular baby food instead.
I was sick so that kind of put a damper on our plans. March is our company's fiscal year end and we had to work an ungodly amount of overtime. I guess my body just got worn down. I worked 11 hours on Friday and at 7pm I finally told my boss I couldn't make it any longer and needed to go home. Saturday I was supposed to work but I had to call in sick. Sunday I was able to do the Easter baskets for the girls but we didn't make it to church. We are going to kind of do a redo this Sunday and take Rylan to church in her Easter dress that she didn't get to wear last week.
I already posted these on facebook but here are a couple-
