I know we've talked about this before but I can't seem to find the thread, so sorry if this is repeating.
I get those emails on updates about what should be going on with Elias at this week's age from The Bump. The weeks 35 email said most babies eye colors are pretty much set by now. Is that true you think? Elias has blue/gray eyes. They had been a little bit lighter blue but they got a little darker but still very blue. They seem to look more blue when he has blue on lol.
My eyes are kind of brown-hazel and DH's eyes are hazel bordering on green. So I thought Elias would have brownish hazel or even just brown eyes. Maybe at 8 1/2 months they still might change?
What age do babies eyes normally change by? Any of you BTDT mommies remember when your other babies eyes changed colors?
I've thought for a while that Jackson's eyes would surely stay blue because they hadn't start changing at all, other than seeming even bluer. In the past couple weeks, though, I have noticed a tiny fleck of brown just outside his pupil. So I'm really curious to see how this plays out.
I should say that my eyes are totally wacky, mainly blue with one-half of my left eye being brown. I was born that way though. My husband says I have marble eyes, too, because even the eye that's not half-brown is bright blue with little flecks of brown.
The three oldest kids have bright blue eyes. I never thought they would stay that way because mine are brown and DH has hazel. Hadley started out with blue, but I'm noticing they're starting to get a brownish green ring. I think she's going to be the only kid without blue eyes.
Yeah I don't think it's true that they're necessarily set at this point. I think if they're brown, they will most likely stay brown but if they're blue, they could still change.
My MIL was so excited that Emily had blue eyes like her since DH has brown and I have green, but I had to warn her that my eyes were blue until I was like 3 or 4 and then they changed to green. My BF's daughter's eyes were blue and at a year they turned really gray/hazel.
It's interesting you posted this topic this week as I JUST noticed yesterday that Oz's eyes have developed a dark ring around them. It's hard to say what colour the ring is, it's just a darker blue but it's dark. I took a picture but this computer's SD card reader is broken so I'll add it later. I think it must mean that his eyes are going to change. I'd just gotten used to the idea that he might have blue eyes too, haha.
I've been thinking about this as well. Not that I think Xavier's are going to change because my eyes are blue and DH's are blue-grey and Xaviers are blue/blue-grey (sometimes more blue sometimes more grey) but I was trying to remember when my brother's eyes changed. My youngest brother has brown eyes (my dad has blue, my mom has green but one eye changed blue with an eye disease she has, my middle brother has grey and I have blue). I can't remember when his eyes changed but yeah... just was thinking about that...
Well, i was looking at Harper's eyes because of the possible pink eye thing and I'm pretty sure they're changing from the brown they've always been to green with orange in the middle like mine. So it seems it takes years for eyes to decide what to be.
