Kyah is VERY interested in what I eat! She still eats baby food twice a day....but she really wants MY food! I give her tiny bites of my food almost every time I eat. Last night I had chicken alfredo and she LOVED it! I feel like she is ready for finger foods, such as pasta, but I have been too scared to give it to her on her own. She absolutely loves yogurt, and that is something I eat often. Every time I do she wants as much as I will give her. I haven't had any trouble with food allergies (thankfully).
Mika will lunge at your plate if she is close enough, she is a very adventurous eater. So far nothing has come up that she has shown a reaction to thankfully. Depending on what I am eating I will give some to her too.
Yes, he usually gets whatever we're eating for dinner, but he's always trying to get whatever food I have. I don't know if he exactly knows it's food. He sticks pretty much everything in his mouth and had the same reaction to almost anything I'm holding whether it's food or not.
Mason is the same Karen. He wants anything i am holding so not sure if its because it is food or not. He does seem interested most the time though. I have let him taste a few things here and there but not much. Im still introducing his baby foods one at a time to be sure he has no allergies. I had a skinny cow ice cream thing though that he tasted and he wanted more so bad and every time I have one he goes crazy trying to get it. It is so cute.
He definitely watches us like a hawk but doesn't try grabbing every time. If anything he is more interested in grabbing his spoon while we feed him and does a decent job at getting it to his own mouth!
We haven't been super adventerous with giving him our food. Last weekend he did have a french fry and the past 2 nights we've cut up some kiwi for him to eat, but I'm pretty wary about giving him table food. I'm trying to figure out the best time introduce some meats, but for the most part he is still on fruit and veggie purees and we are cutting fresh produce and letting him feed himself some every night.
Liam is definitely interested...in putting everything into his mouth...I'm with Karen, doesn't matter if it's food or other lol! I do let him taste what I'm eating most of the time. I think once he cuts his teeth I will feel a bit more comfortable expanding his palatable choices.
Babies this age put everything in their mouth (or want to) so I don't ever use the "he is interested in your food" as a sign for solids readiness.
I DO like giving different textures though, so I have given Weston some things like eggs and potato salad. The peas I made were not cooked to mush either, I just thawed a bag of frozen and put them in the food processor for a few pulses. There were still whole skins and pieces in them. I mix everything with oatmeal cereal pretty thick, he likes it better that way.
Matthew will fuss sometimes when we eat because he wants some to ha ha! He lunges at plated to and try to get a handful. I will give him a taste of my food sometimes depending on what's in it and it makes him feel so special lol
