When do they start using them? A couple times this week, I've gone in and Cam is laying his head on his stuffy. I thought they didn't need pillows for a while yet.

I don't know when they're supposed to but we have let Xavier under supervision mostly during naps.

Not until at least 2. Some don't introduce until 3.

Not sure when they are safe but I use some pillows around the floor to keep him from going where I don't want him and in front of the desk so he doesn't knock his head when he's playing around. The last week or so he'll crawl over to one and pull it down flat and then lay his head on it and grin at me like he's saying, "I know what this is really for Mommy and I like it!" But I'm not going to let him have one until he goes into a 'big boy' bed.

Just wanted to clarify that his pillow usage are throw pillows we just use to elevate him somewhat because of his sinuses. He breathes better if he's slightly propped up. But it's not just his head. It's his upper body.

We started using small baby pillow at about 18 months with Sophia, but I think my oldest two were about 2 years old.

Daniel had one from 18 months. Michaela has them for downstairs nap times now, but not for bed.

I introduced it to my first around a year, just a very thin one. She was not much of a mover in her sleep, so I felt comfortable enough to do it. I put one in A's crib the other night in hope the the smell from my bed would keep her in her crib longer, it didn't work. Lol

When Emily's in the bed with me, she usually shares my pillow. I move her off it sometimes just to give myself room but she usually throws herself back on it. She still has a touch of reflux so she does better with her head elevated.

We just gave one to Kailyn when she moved into her own bed at 3 and a half. She started stealing ours at night when she slept with us so we figured it was time to give her one of her own.

Exactly this, but allergies/sinus issues in place of reflux.

im one of those terrible moms you hear about who gives their child aq pillow to use for naps. but he doesnt move at naps and at night hes still with me and i am his pillow.
i give my kid a blanket too.
but he naps better with a pillow because i prop him up at night so having that support is comforting. mind it it cant even be considered a **** pillow its so dang thin. but yea. supervised naps he has one. he will probably go straight from co-sleeping to big boy bed
