When's a good time to transfer little one to a toddler bed?

When they start climbing out. I know when they are 35" it becomes very easy for them.

I'm praying DD doesn't get any ideas anytime soon. (She's 31"). I'm hoping to make it until at least 20 months!

I read the longer you can keep them in a crib the better, but the recommendation is at least 2 years.

Yikes, 35" doesn't seem very tall! Oz is already 32" I think. Today I was looking at him standing in his crib and thinking what am I going to do if he keeps getting taller - it's already on the lowest setting! He's also always trying to climb up things.

I took out the bumber ages ago cause I know they can use it as a step. I don't think he could handle a toddler bed anytime soon - I was thinking like 2 + years as well. My cousin just moved her almost 3 yo into one because they just had a new baby and needed the crib.

As long as possible. We tried switching LJ at 18 months (he started climbing out) and it was horrible. We switched back and use a crib tent (which has since been recalled, we LOVED that thing) until he was a few months past 2. He still gets up almost every night now, and slept so well in his crib.

I didn't switch DS until he was over 2 years old. I was lucky because I never dealt with climbing out. Something tells me little miss Molly is going to be giving me a run for my money.
