Tristan had some nasty sickness goin on. It was bad enough for him to go to the dr without my coaxing. Turns out he needed antibiotics.Looks like he gave it to me. My ears hurt, I have a fever, my whole body aches, my throat hurts and I'm coughing up some nasty green stuff. Normally, getting sick doesn't really bother me, but this sucks!! I'm sure I need antibiotics too... I have my regular ob appointment tomorrow so I didn't see a point in making one for today.

I just want to be able to take Nyquil like I normally would. I can't sleep at night right now and that would definitely help. I know I can have Benedryl while preggo, but that makes me nervous because it pretty much has the same affect that Nyquil does. Tylenol keeps my fever at bay... kinda. I've gotten it to stay just below 100 at least, but it does nothing for pain. I know I can take plain old boring normal Sudafed, but that's about as worthless as water.

As if being pregnant didn't have it's own aches and pains, this just sucks!! Oh and every time I cough, I get that lovely round ligament pain. Yay!!

Sorry... I had to whine. I'm done now.

Sounds like you need an antibiotic for either a sinus infection or an upper respiratory infection. I am going through it now (for the past week) and I'm finally starting to feel better but I feel your pain!!! The sudaphed does help dry me up so I can breathe through my nose (is your nose stuffy? get some breathe right strips!)

My OB wouldn't give me an antibiotic, they had me call my general practicitioner....food for thought.

Hope you feel better!!!!

Mine will. She prefers to prescribe all meds during pregnancy. It makes my life a lot easier. I had to have an antibiotic at the beginning of the pregnancy for a UTI. I'll have to have her give me something different if possible though because that made me puke like crazy!!

My nose is stuffy, not runny. I've been running the vaporizer in our room at night. That helps a lot. Cough drops help too, but I'm not even certain those are okay to have.

oops cough drops better be ok because I've bee eating them like a champ!! I have to, otherwise I'm coughing up a lung during my counseling sessions and that's a no-go

Maybe I'll run the humidifier tonight to see if it helps me not have a coughing fit in the middle of the night.

Oh man it's the worst being sick while pregnant, it's like pregnancy amplifies all the symptoms. I hope your OB will write you a script. Mine will only write one for things related to the southern regions (so UTI antibiotics yes, sinus infection antibiotics no).

Hugs! I hope you feel better!
