so I went for my Level II this morning. Everything looks good, he is still a he and he did very well. He's measuring perfectly and weighing 2lbs 14oz.

The dr came in to go over the results and talk about my GD. He told me that when I had my first trimester screening I scored low on one part called the PAP-A. Basically that means I'm at risk for pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, high levels of amniotic fluid or stillborn. uhhh can we say ***?!?!?!

I am not getting weekly bio-physical profiles and a growth scan every 4 weeks. OH, and I'm on glyburide insulin once a day.

It was nice seeing my little man today but that was a lot to take in.....

Yay for getting a peek and him looking good!!! I'm sorry you were overwhelmed by the risks your dr laid on you today. I can imagine how you feel. Maybe he's hoping that by you knowing you can take whatever possible steps to prevent what you can? I don't know another good reason for scaring you like that. I'm glad that it seems they're keeping a good watch on you and the baby, though! I know the appointments may be a lot to make so often, but it's good to know that you'll be closely watched and in good hands.

Sounds like you had a crazy appointment. I am sorry that your doc just dropped all of that on you. It sounds like a lot to take in at one time. I'm so happy to hear that your baby looks good!!!

I agree with Katie, it's good that you know and you can take it seriously in order to prevent those things from happening! It will be fun to see your little guy more often too! I wish I was getting scans every once in a while, but then again I wouldn't wish any complications on myself of course! Keep us updated!!

I'm sorry. That must've hard to get all of that news at once. Hopefully with them keeping such a good eye on baby boy the risks won't become a problem for you. I'm glad all looks good with him!

BTW, sorry if i missed this but does little man have a name??

haha Krista, no this poor little boy does NOT have a name!!! I think we are a Jackson kick right now so we shall see how that plays out

I feel a bit better now that I had some time to digest. I guess the scariest part to me is the chance of stillborn. My sisters friend lost her baby at 36 weeks and I always think about that in this situation. I know myself and now I am going to be more aware of his movements or lack thereof.

I have had a feeling all along that he would be here by 38 weeks and this seems to help support my thoughts. That, and the nurse only scheduled out my appts until Aug 31, which is my 38th week.

I am glad baby boy is doing so well Yay for getting to see him!

I'm sorry you had to find out about all of the risks so abruptly, but it's good that you are aware of it and can keep an eye out for any complications.
