Woohoo for August! It is a crazy month for us here. Birthdays galore. My dad's is the 4th, my mom's the 7th, my stepdad the 16th, and MINE is the 17th. Chances are nothing special is happening for my birthday but I really want a kindle. I wanted one before Logan is born but no one seems to listen when I say what I want. I didn't get anything last year either. Not a huge deal just kind of depressing.

I *have* to go to my mom's today. It's the only time I get to go anywhere this week.

My goodness Krissy, that is a lot of birthday celebrations! I hope you get your Kindle!

Yay for August!! We can now all say we are due "next month"!!

Ladies, we are getting very very close to meeting our babies

Today, I will start packing things for our move. I have to pick up some boxes a little later. I'm excited because that means I am one step closer to moving!!

I'm psyched that we can say that now. It's so soon!

Michelle - when you get boxes, stop by your local uhaul center and see if they have a "take a box leave a box". I worked for uhaul until this pregnancy and we had one, most centers should have one. They're free!

Oh my goodness!!!! It's AUGUST!!!!! It is exciting to say that we're due next month and add the excitement that many of our babies could decide to show up later this month.

Krissy....you do have a lot of celebrating to do!!! I hope you get your Kindle, too. My DH is the same. I don't think it's intentional. I really think he just doesn't pay too much attention when I say I'd like certain things. I usually have to say "Hey, IF and only if you're looking for bday ideas for me, I've been looking at...."

Michelle, I was going to also say to stop by any UPS center (not the shipping store, but the actual centers where they sort and deliver from). They typically have several boxes laying around that they'll give you if you need them. At least here they do! Hope all the packing and moving goes really smoothly for you this month.

Krissy your August sounds like our september and october!

Michelle check out liquor stores for boxes too. We lucked out last year when we moved, the company DH was working for was throwing away probably close to 50 heavy duty boxes. Awesome for us! LOL

I got Adam's school supply list in the mail today, it is different than the one they posted online - yay (sarcasm) he need 12 glue sticks! 12! really? And a ton more pencils, tissues, and hand sanitizer. Can't believe I have a Kindergartener!

Haha!!!! 12?!?! They are going to be doing quite a bit of gluing, it sounds like. My oldest was in kindergarten last year and they had to have 2 of the jumbo size and that lasted him all year. I've been lazy and haven't gotten the boys supplies yet. I'm planning on knocking it out this weekend, though. I kinda have to since they start next Monday, LOL!

I cannot believe it is August! My boyfriends birthday is this weekend so we are going to have a small get together for him. I feel really bad because I lost my job babysitting bcuz the mom was laid off from her job, so I cannot afford a nice gift for him. Hopefully I can make up for it sometime soon though. Plus we get to meet our little man next month!! I cannot wait. yay!

Tomorrow is my 36 week appt and i'm hoping to be released from bed rest. There is way too much resentment going on in our house.

Thank you ladies for all of the ideas on places to get boxes!! I do appreciate it!!

Ami - my kids lists are HUGE this year! I have gotten almost everything for their lists minus a few items. But wow 12 glue sticks!! Geesh, that is a lot of gluing!! The only thing I do not appreciate about back to school supplies when it comes to a lot of the things on the list the teachers collect the items at the beginning of the year and it becomes belongings of the classroom itself. My kids never got to use what I bought them. I never saw the school supplies I bought them past sending them to school that first day. The only thing they did get to keep for themselves were the binders and folders and occasionally pencils.

Alice, I hope you get off of bed rest tomorrow!

Kristen, have fun uniform shopping. All of my kids have to wear uniforms for school and my oldest girls are super picky about the style they want. Ugh, it was a hassle getting that out of the way.

Ugh we're still waiting on the school supply lists, and actually teacher assignments, although we do know who DD2 will have for a teacher (there's only one 1st grade class). Our schools are so slow at posting.

I wish that our kids had to wear uniforms, LOL, is that bad? I feel like it'd take some of the headache out of getting ready for school in the mornings. No arguing over what they want to wear, and then I won't have to wrack my brain to try to remember if they'd already worn it earlier in the week. My two oldest are so close in size that they can share shirts and half the time, I can't remember which one wore what or if it'd been worn at all.

So, who's watching the Olympics tonight???? Any big moments you've really liked so far? Women's gymnastics taking the gold is a big one for me. I'm so looking forward to this weekend when the track and field starts, and Sunday for the women's marathon!!! I'm rooting for some of my favorite women athletes this weekend. Lolo Jones in the 100m hurdles, and Kara Goucher & Shalene Flannigan in the marathon!

I'll find out my oldest' teacher next week on Thursday, and they start the Monday after. My middle DS is still in a private school, and they do not release the class list until the parent orientation the night before school starts! It makes for a lot of excitement in that school!

I would love for the kids to wear uniforms. But this is the live free or die state, they'll never enforce uniforms in our public schools, and even the religious private schools are becoming lax on uniforms.

We loved the gymnastics, diving, and swimming so far. Dh and I have not been getting enough sleep thanks to watching them lol

I must say I do prefer the uniforms over them wearing regular clothes. It is a hassle finding the style pants/capris/shorts/bottoms my oldest girls want, but it is soooo worth it. It is very nice that the kids are no longer competing with their classmates over the newest latest jeans and other items! I love the uniform policy they have enforced here. And all of our local schools adhere to it I have one in elementary, one in middle, and two in high school; all are in uniforms!

DH has been watching The Olympics faithfully! I can't say I have done the same though. I have watched a little, just not much.

We are not at all into the Olympics! Just not our cup of tea, I suppose

Have fun finishing school shopping, everyone! I have to say I am really glad I don't have to worry about that for a while

This month I am SO EXCITED to be taking a vacation! My last day of work is August 17th (4 weeks disability, then maternity leave, then FMLA) so I won't be going back to work full time until January! I work my butt off so this break will be so nice (and I won't have to wake up at 5am then drive 55 miles 1 way ).

August 18th DH and I are going to an all-inclusive resort for 5 days/4 nights. I'll be 36 weeks then so I hope I'm still up for everything. I'm 34 weeks now and so far have been feeling great! No constant aches or pains, no BH, only tired when I first get up in the morning... let's hope that continues!

Woohoo, vacation!!!! That'll be awesome! I've always gone on vacation around 36-ish weeks with my first three and never had any issues, either. Chances are that you'll be fine, but I read where you're packing and taking your hospital stuff with you JIC. That's a smart idea. We took our vacation a couple of weeks ago because the boys are starting back to school in a couple of weeks. Where are y'all going, if you don't mind sharing? I can't wait to see a couple of pics when you get back.

My DD's school list says NOT to label anything because they all go into a group pile where everyone can use them.. This bothers me. I'm a little bit of a germaphobe, and I dont want my kids using the same items other kids have put their hands all over. Plus they ask for toilet paper, paper towels, and tons of other stuff. What are our tax dollars used for??? I'm going to send in the required items for the "group pile" and then I'm going to fill her own box with scizzors/gluesticks/crayons/etc LABELED, just for her to use.

Is this her first year of school? Chances are the teacher will send the labeled items back home. Unfortunately, her hands are going to touch a lot of things other kids touch - and other kids are going to touch HER things regardless (backpack, books, toys, etc).

A lot of that other stuff they are asking for would be coming out of the teachers tiny pay. My friends are teachers, all schools have had serious budget cuts and many teachers are being required to bring in their own items, including toilet paper. We've had to send in paper towels, baby wipes, tissues etc.

She's going into 2nd. And I know some things are unavoidable, but last year, they didnt go into her personal box that she keeps in her desk, so I'll just send all the group things into orientation, and then send her things I want only her using with her the first day. I don't mind sending the other supplies as much. My child will be using them too.. I went in for a field trip, and this kid had a runny nose, and I went to get him a tissue, and the teacher said they were out, and handed him one of those brown paper towels. I'd hate for my children to have to use those for sore noses, so the next day I sent in like ten boxes of tissues. It really is sad they take money away from schools.
