Okay I was planning on making the crib bedding but I can't find the fabric I want in stores anywhere!! I am afraid to order it online though because I'm afraid the shade will be off.. and well I'm running out of time.. I have found some online that I love and was going to kinda copy it. She does custom orders and I could have it done exactly like I was planning on doing. However her customs take 4-7wks so it will probably be a bit late, which would be okay ish. But that being said if I was going to order it I need to do it now! But do i spend the extra money on a custom order, or continue shopping around wasting time and gas looking for the fabric I want? Not to mention I'm running out of stores to look at

Have you looked at fabric.com? They do free returns. I had to return fabric to them for the exact reason when I madw our bedding. It wasn't an issue at all. Plus if you spend over $35it you get free shipping to you as well (and there are always coupon codes out there for 10-15%me off as well).

I say go ahead and order it. I am the type that likes to be ready and prepared; so your situation would probably bug the heck outta me! That wasted time and gas would probably be equal to the extra money you will be spending to have it custom made. Another plus is it will save you the stress of continuing to search!

Can you share what you're looking at? Maybe we can help you find it!

This sounds like a fun project! I agree that maybe you could order a swatch. I think a lot of online stores will send you a fabric swatch for free or very cheap.

I'm considering having MIL make ours when we get in the new house, so if you end up with any advice, let me know!

Alexandra Aqua Baby Bedding - $289.00 : Boy Baby Bedding Crib Sets, Custom Girl Baby Bedding

but more of a turqoise and not so much aqua on the minky dots. She offers the colors I want. I can find the smaller damask print but I want the 12.5in pattern repeat like this one.

and michelle thats kinda what I'm starting to think!

You're looking for the damask, right? Not the minky? JoAnn's has a pretty decent minky dot selection, as does Hobby Lobby. I picked up the turq. minky for my nursery at JoAnns (for color reference: http://confessionsofadiyaholic.blogs...ry-reveal.html)

Do you have a Hancock Fabrics nearby? I think the damask is by Premier Prints and is called "traditions" in black/white, and they carry it. It'll be in the home decor/54" section. There are a lot of places that carry it online too for less than you'll get it at Hancock's.

Traditions Black / White | Online Discount Drapery Fabrics and Upholstery Fabric Superstore! -- This shop offers a 30 day return policy. Remember that it's 54" when you order your amount. I way over ordered on mine b/c I was using a tutorial that used 44" fabric, and I didn't calculate the extra I'd have...so I have a LOT left over and could've saved quite a bit!

We do have a hancocks somewhere around dallas area, I will have to look it up and see just how far it is.

Make sure you call and check it's in stock before you drive! They sell it on their website, but it's not always in all the stores.

Re the minky- it's called a dot fleece or something like that at hobby lobby, and at joanns its in the same area as terry cloth and chenille. We just had a new joanns open too and it toom a while for them to get everything stocked up after they liquidated it from the two smaller stores they combined. They will surely be able to tell you when they'll get it though bc they really carry a decent selection of it.

If this werent a 2while hour drive for me, I'd pick it up for you and try and get the stains out. Not exactly it, but for free? Stsange coincidence that it popped up tonight! http://stlouis.craigslist.org/zip/3188340866.html
