It looks like little red bumps all over my tummy along with very itchy stretch marks they are itchy enough to keep me from sleeping I took a bath to try to sooth the itch but it did not really work... any one have any thoughts? Oh and if I scratch it has a little burning sensation... If it is still there in the morning I might call the OB just to ask about it.

It could just be basic irritation. The only thing I know of that cause itching and rash during pregnancy (that is specifically related to pregnancy) is Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy (PUPPP).

PUPPP usually occurs during a woman’s first pregnancy in the third trimester and results in an extremely itchy rash that resembles hives. The rash usually occurs on the abdomen and may be related to trauma from skin stretching.

Cholestasis causes itching but without the rash.

I say if it is still there in the morning then call your OB. I hope you get some relief soon!

I took your advise Michelle and called the OB after work because I was soo itchy every time something even remotely touched my tummy ick the nurse told me to take benedryl and rub hydrocortozone on it and if it is still there Monday then they will have me come in to get checked out! I really hope it is not there on Monday that would make for a miserable weekend.

Look for oatmeal bath in the pharmacy, it really helps with itches. I usually pick up Aveeno brand, but I am sure there are store brands too. It might not be real easy to get onto your stomach unless you have a deep bath, but you could always pour it over.

I had an awful PUPPS rash with #2. Lotions will just make it worse! The only thing that helped was oatmeal baths (helped just a little) and using hydrocortizone cream (helped quite a bit but OB said to use sparingly) Mine lasted about 4 weeks and then just went away on its own a few weeks before the delivery but oh man it was miserable. The only thing I wanted to do was lay around with my shirt pulled up over my belly all day (not especially attractive) because it itched so bad if anything at all touched it. I have been so glad it has not occurred in my other pregnancies because the constant itching and trying not to itch about drove me crazy. I really hope you are able to find some relief soon!
