It sounds so silly to ask.

Elliott can sit alone. But he leans forward really far and grunts and moans and complains until he starts fussing and has to be pulled back up. He can't sit straight up and down yet. He also will fall down to the side.

What do you guys consider sitting?

TMI/Vulgar comment: I laugh when he is leaning forward just a little but throwing a fit...I say "What happened, are you crushing your balls?" lol since he is new to the whole sitting on himself thing lol. It sounds so bad but since he is new to sitting on his hind end on a hard surface I would probably cry too lol

I considered my lo to be sitting when she had the core strength to sit straight up. Also, when she starts to tip to one side, she corrects herself. Micah never did the folding over sit, or even leaned on her hands, but my ds used to and he was about 7 months before he could sit up straight without leaning.

That's how I feel about it too. Where I can plop him on the floor and not feel like I have to be right there in case he tips over. I know boys mature slower than girls, or at least it seems he is in the sitting up part! I think we need to work on his core a little more. It sounds silly to say. Guess we need to hit the gym!

I agree; I also consider sitting when baby has the core strength to hold themselves straight while sitting up. Kyah isn't quite there yet. I am looking forward to this milestone!

I think it is when a baby can fully support themselves up. Maura isn't quite there yet.

Matthew does the same thing. I agree with the sitting on there own part to, when he has the core strength to hold himself up and dosent fall over that's when ill consider him sitting on his own.

The same with Declan. He ends up leaning forward and grunting at me. I think it is hysterical too, which is terrible. I can't help but laugh at him though

Alex only leans forward to and grunts and groans. I feel like he's struggling and can't breathe right so I feel bad lol but I am all of a sudden a paranoid mom it drives me nuts I am always worrying about him I was the same through my whole pregnancy I thought it would go away once he was hear and it hasn't. Buy I also consider sitting when they can hold themselves up straight. Really I am not concerned as everything states that it can happen anywhere between 4-8 months and Alex is only 4 months

Agreed! Once they sit straight up alone and also can catch their balance. Bailey just started sitting on her own last week!
