Charlotte is 4 1/2 months old and is still getting up every 2 hours through the night. I am EBF and she only usually eats for a few minutes and then falls asleep. I've been trying to let her fuss for a few minutes to see if she'll put herself back to sleep but she gets too worked up so I end up feeding her. I'm so tired and am looking for any advice.

Hmmm, I know for sure another of our Mommies is going through this right now! Do you stick to the same bedtime routine every night?

Poor mama, you have it really hard right now! Have you tried a pacifier with Charlotte?

Micah does that too she is also ebf and she wakes up alllll night long. I think it's more a comfort thing for her because she only feeds for a couple of minutes then falls back asleep. My other kids were also frequent wakers. If you don't mind hearing her cry you could try cio, but thqt's not for everyone (i can't do it, i am a softie lol). I am hoping when micah strts solids she will sleep a little better, maybe charlotte will too. Sorry, no real advice, just sympathy, it's tough!

I don't really have any good advice since I was stuck in this situation until DS#3 weaned himself at 1 year. At one point, after a couple weeks, was able to get him to every 3 hours. It was time consuming and exhausting though. I would feed him a couple times before bed, instead of going 2 hours, I would nurse twice, an hour apart, or even closer together. Then when he woke during the night, I would give him his pacifier instead of nursing him. I would do this until he hit the 3 hour mark. Eventually he started going 3 hours at night... but then I had to have surgery where I couldn't nurse for 24 hours and that ONE night, DH messed it all up by giving him the bottle any time he fussed. Then it took me awhile to get him back to 2 hours between feedings and I just gave up with that lol.

You can try the pacifier if she takes one... she may just need soothed and it may have nothing to do with being hungry. Good luck! Hope you find something that works so you can start getting more sleep!

This is one reason we co-sleep. I know that isn't for everyone, and I am not saying that is what should do, but for me it is a life saver. I can just latch him on and go back to sleep. I only have to be awake for a minute.

I dont really have any other advice other then what the other ladies have said already. But I diffently recomend trying a paci if you havent already. Matthew was starting noto sleep trough the night anymore and was always eating and would do the eat for a few min then fall asleep thing to lol, that was a few weeks ago before we started solids and he was ding that for over a month. He was sleeping through the night then stoped but once we started solids he started sleeping through the night again.

I am so sorry though and I hopyou can find something to help!

I forgot to mention... when we put Vinny into his own room (around his 1st birthday) he started sleeping through the night. I forget that a lot because it was only about a week between him sleeping through the night and weaning him off breastfeeding. My older two started going longer at night when they weren't right next to me too... you might want to try it for a night if possible.

i'm not a fan of co sleeping, but that is what we are doing right now. I just sleep with my boobs out. It's growth spurt time and it's the only way we get any sleep.

We are in the same boat. It was this way with DS1. I don't for see him sleeping through the night anytime soon.
