As u all know Alex since birth has been admitted for rsv and then pneumonia but now for the past month and a bit he has been wheezy all the time I have had him to two different drs and his ped his ped put it down to him having asthma or that some of his lung rise was damage from the rsv. I don't know what to do now cause the inhalers don't seem to be helping much and I am worried when he breaths like this all the time... I just feel helpless at this point.
I am so sorry I hope the doctors can figure out what the problem is so that he can be treated for it. I will pray that baby Alex breathing clears and the wheezing goes away.
I'd be demanding some answers. Wheezy breathing is not normal and if his inhaler is not working then there must be something else they could do for him. Don't ignore your mommy instinct, if you are worried then put your foot down to those doctors. What did the other ones say about it?
I agree with the other ladies. Don't let them push you around if you aren't getting the answers you need. If the medicine isn't working then you should go take him back in. I hope that you get some answers soon, and that the wheezing goes away. KUP!
I'm so sorry! I know its so hard not knowing whats going on with your baby! I agree and demand the drs to give you some answers! Have you thought about seeing a specilist?
So took him back to the dr he uped his inhalers and wants me to try switching him off cows milk based formula as he tginks he may have an allergy to the protein in the formula. He said he tginks he is asthmatic and has reactive airways. So we r trying to switch his formula which he almost refuses to take I am kinda stuck there because he hates it. We will see if it makes a difference he is also 20lbs which worries me because that is big for a 5 mth old.
My ds was 22lbs by 6 months and is now 3 years old weighs 43lbs and is 43inches tall. Some babies are just a little bigger then average. I was concerned all the time ( since some times there is an underline problem) but not always. I hope he feels better soon.
