Bailey had her weight check on Thursday, she was closer to 5.5 months, but she weighed in at 12lb 8oz. She gained only 8oz in a month and a half. Her dr just said to keep plugging away at it. Any change in the right direction is a positive one. She's just so tiny. She's in the 4th percentile for her weight, which is a drop in her curve from last month.

Here's the good news. Bailey's dr is just as fed up with trying to get answers from Emory about when they'll review her case, too. They had already started the process of getting her in at UAB (University of Alabama-Birmingham). Our insurance had approved it and they've set up the referral paperwork and sent all of her info over. UAB geneticists said it was ridiculous to make her wait so long to be seen (and quite frankly a bit dangerous) and they can see her MUCH sooner than November. They're getting all the stuff set up on their end and UAB is supposed to call me today or tomorrow with her appointment date and time. (Fingers crossed).

Also, we are given the green light to start her on oatmeal cereal. A very small amount a couple times a day to see how she does and what her blood sugar does. If she responds well and her blood sugar is ok, we can slowly add in other purees and see how she responds. Hopefully we'll get in and get a diagnoses soon!!!!

Also, a question for Michelle, Jo'Lina and the other ladies. I had an extremely stressful and busier week than expected last week and didn't get to post any picture girl pics. Would it be ok to post those this week? I don't want to step on Kim's picture girl week this week. Just let me know!

I meant to respond to this in the facebook group and forgot! I'm glad you posted here! I think it's a positive thing that Bailey gained even just a little bit during that time. Here's to hoping that the oatmeal and purees help her even more and you are seen by a specialist soon!!! They need to get the ball rolling so if there is something there, you don't stunt her growth even further. Praying for baby Bailey and your family, Katie! Always thinking about you guys! And I'm absolutely sure that you can post your pictures whenever you are ready, even if it's this week.

I am glad that Bailey is gaining even though it isn't as much as the drs would like. Thank goodness she is going to be seen at UAB! I hope they call and her appointment is very soon! I am really looking forward to the post where you say they finally figured out what the underlying issue is!

I hope baby Bailey does well with the oatmeal! She will probably love it with all of the oatmeal you eat

You can post your pictures this week, no problem there! We are all friends here!! Post whenever is most convenient for you

yay! thats great news that the dr pushed it and you guys can get her seen sooner! even if its at another place but the other was being awful anyways taking so long!thats not good to make a baby wait that long to be seen!

As or the picture girl, that is just fine and you post your pics when you can!
