I was just wondering who has started using sippy cups for baby and giving juice or water. His ped says water is good and no more then 2 oz of juice a day. She dosent really recomed giving them juice right now either because its so sweet so they love it and it can cause obesity issues in the future or something , I tought that was interesting. So heres my questions for you ladies!

We haven't used a sippy cup but I only gave Jordan juice when he was constipated, and that was diluted with water, and only 1-2oz of each.
The ped recommended we give him 2 oz of water after every meal until he's more regular. We did that and then when he started going again we decided to only do the water after his puréed meals.

Naomi just gets boob juice from the tap We start the cup around 10 mos and start with nuby brand.

I started Matthew on one when he turned 6 months. I put apple juice and diluted it with water. He likes the juice but is expecting milk when he sucks on it lol. Im going to put some boob juice in it for him so he can get the concept of a sippy cup. Buthis ped said no more then 2 oz a day of juice so im going by that, giving him less actually. I also want to start giving him some water from his sippy cup.

I got a soft spout sippy cup, i think it is Gerber brand? I tried her with just 1oz apple juice the other night because she was constipated, but she wouldn't drink it. She sucked it into her mouth and spit it out. I also tried some breast milk in the cup but she didn't drink that either.

If so, when did you start? About a week ago, when he was 6 months old.

What kind/brand of sippy cup do you use? I think ours is a first years.

How is baby doing with there sippy cup? He doesn't know it as a drinking vessel but likes holding it with both hands and gnawing on it.

Have you givin juice to baby? If so what kind of juice? I have given 2oz warm apple juice diluted with water to help him poop when he was littler. He doesn't get any now.

Do you dilute the juice? Yes, half and half.

Have you given water to baby? Yes that is what I put in his sippy cup.

How much water and/ or juice do you give baby? I fill the cup till it's full which is about 6-8oz. He only manages to get half an oz if that in his mouth when he is holding it and chewing on it. (Has a bite valve). Once he actually gets the hang of it and knows it as water I will watch how much his intake is so he doesn't overdose. We aren't doing juice and going to hold off on it as long as we can. I don't see any point in offering it just for fun. Only medical purposes.

I bought Kyah a couple of Nuby cups with the handles. Right now they are one of her favorite teething toys. She loves biting on the soft spout. I have only put nursery water in it so far. She doesn't drink it though. She only gets a few random drinks while chewing on it, lol. I plan to let her try some apple juice sometime soon. I've been wondering if I should offer a drink with her solids. So far, It's just been breast milk.

How much water and/ or juice do you give baby? 8 oz total bottle for her night time feeding and sips of juice n her sippy when she eats with babyfood or when she wants mt drink i give it to her randomly throughout tne day and she takes a sip

she holds it n knows how but refuses to bc she wants me to do it.
