I had a really great birth experience. I was induced on Feb 23, checked into the hospital at about 7:30 am. I was 2-3cm and 80% effaced. They started the pitocin at 2ml around 9 am. They upped it 2ml every half hour and I wasn't feeling any contractions at all. At 11:30am I was at 3cm and the dr broke my water. Clear fluid. DH and my dad and brother went out to eat, and around 12pm I started feeling the contractions. They just got worse and worse and were like 3-5 minutes apart. At around 1pm I was asking for the epidural. The anesthesiologist was in a C Section so I had to wait. He didn't get to my room until 1:50pm. As soon as I got the epidural I was really really happy and comfortable. The nurse put in the catheter, and then decided to check me. She said I was at 8cm but went to get another nurse for a second opinion. That nurse came in and said I was fully dilated. They took out the catheter that was only in for about 5 minutes total. Started pushing and I pushed for an hour. Ryne was born at 3:06 pm. 8 lb 3 oz 19 inches long. Total labor from when they started pitocin to delivery was 6 hours. I'm sure I left out a lot of information but that is the basics!!
