Okay, since we are NOT moving before the baby gets here (well, most likely), I'm at a loss as to what to do. Its so dissapointing that I don't even want to unpack the baby stuff I have to get things ready. I've always looked forward to getting the nursery ready as it sort of ment (for me) that this was for real and I would be bringing a baby home, and soon!!

Now, my options are:
1) baby shares room with 3.5yo DS. I really don't see this as a good option.
2) baby sleep in our room in the crib. I would have to get rid of my desk and a bunch of stuff, but I still don't think that the crib would fit well as we have a king sized bed taking up most of the room in there. I will have to do some measurements or at least throw the matress down to see how it would likely fit.
3) not use a crib, but use a co-sleeper or a pack n play. Here's where I get a bit worried. Those co-sleepers online don't look very sturdy and I have a tall poster bed, so would it be tall enough? Then, where do I put baby to sleep during the day? How long are the co-sleepers good for? And of course, how will this interfere with MY sleep when I return back to work? I co-slept with DD#2 and every little noise she make would wake me up and every turn we made, every noise we made woke her up. So we all kept each other awake. Packnplays are too big IMO and for the size of it, I might as well use a crib, or am I thinking wrong? Bassinets and such are just a short term solution and if we aren't able to get a bigger place in the next year I'll be back at square one.
4) closet nursery seems the most practicle and allows for me to do a little decorating, but what do I do with all my stuff?! I mean I prefer to hang my stuff up (baby's too when baby is wearing more outfits versus onsies and gowns), and we are hanging up a ton of stuff! I can move out some of our crappy shelving units, and some of the stuff I use to store clothes, and I can store some of baby's stuff in DS's room... I can also put some stuff in wardrobe boxes under the bed. (Like suits that don't fit DH but he wont get rid of, and some other stuff of his he refuses to get rid of but are taking up closet hanging space...) Again, I would need to do some measuring to see if a crib would fit in there and how I would like to organize it. Oh, the closet is a good sized walk in closet.

What do you think? I think I'm going back and forth between a co-sleeper and a closet nursery...

I would go with option 4. I would also make DH get rid of the clothes he no longer wears. Instead of getting a full sized crib, what are your feeling on a miniature crib? They are a deal smaller, but last still baby for a good while. I love closet nurseries and they have some very cute ideas on Pinterest

I agree with the mini crib. Our space is limited and the mini crib works just perfect.

Oh, I didn't see this until now! We already have a crib, so I wanted to keep it if we could. :/ I also went through and started to clean out the closet and things are looking a lot better. I think once we empty it of other things in there, it will be easier to decide what to do or how to arrange things. Its annoying though cause I think the closets width is like 1/2" shorter then our crib so we would have to turn it the other direction and then that takes up most of the cloest space. Grrrrrr.

Oh, I haven't seen a lot of closet nursery ideas on pinterest. Its mostly the same ones repeating and those are from like H&G or something. Maybe I'm searching wrong?

I have this:

Amazon.com: The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper: Baby

And now I'm not worried so much about the crib because I think it will be easier to have her sleep in this rather than in a crib that will still be in our room. Plus it makes for easier transition from co-sleeping to crib. Since you have a king size bed, this might be an option for you. The top is hard plastic so you don't have to worry about rolling into your baby while you sleep. It also folds up and is portable. And it's much cheaper than a pack 'n play.
