so i didnt have this issue last time i was prego...is it ok to pick up toddlers, like your child? i didnt realize how much i pick her up

it's okay. I wouldn't be like moving any furniture but we gotta pick up our babies

My babies are getting too heavy... I pick up dd but my ds not so much he never asks to be picked up only when he's upset

I haven't given it too much thought...Claire is still in a crib, so I really can't avoid picking her up!

Just lurking. =) I was told if picking up your child or children was something you already did a lot of, it was alright to continue. I worked in a daycare when pregnant with my first so I automatically wondered about that. It's safe, just lift correctly. Your muscles will be more prone to pulls and sprains, etc.

I was wondering the same because my son is just about 20 lbs. Good to know its okay to pick him up!

I do the same things I did before I was pregnant (as far as lifting things and working out) I still pick up my 4 year old....lol

I think it's fine but if I remember correctly my OB said last time to try not to pick up many things over 20 lbs or so in the last tri especially, so I might try to pick her up a little less towards the end. Luckily she's already in a toddler bed and very independant (she goes up and down the stairs on her own, eats at the table like a big girl, etc.) so it won't be too bad I'm hoping.
