My mother told me to prepare for a bunch of weird things to happen to my body. I'm over the nausea, bloating (mostly), and heat waves. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the first prenatal visit this coming March 2nd. However lately it seems I'm beginning to bleed... whenever I do the number two.

It's mostly constipation but I noticed a significant amount of blood whenever I do go. It doesn't hurt nor do I feel like I'm dying, but to see blood in your own stool is nerve wracking and frightening! I was worried it was coming from my other area but thankfully that remains clean. My mom said it's hemorrhoids most likely but I'm not sure what to think or if I should be concerned. I've NEVER had this happened to me before.

Freaking out is an understatement right now.

I had that happen when I was pregnant with my son. It will pass even though it really sucks right now!

Yeah, it sounds like hemorrhoids. Bummer. Super common during pregnancy (and after). Make sure you're getting enough fluids and fiber. With both my previous pregnancies I ended up drinking prune juice every once in a while for the constipation (it's not bad mixed with club soda).

Ditto. Had them last time, and they are already bothering me again this time. Be proactive about it...don't wait until it has been several days since you have had a BM. If you notice it has been very long, start drinking prune juice or something...waiting only makes it more painful.

It happens... and it will probably only get worse after you go through labor.

When you go to your first ob appt. ask for a prenatal with a stool softener in it.... two birds one stone. It helps a lot.

This happened to me around 4 weeks and trust me, I was freaking out too.
My father, who is a nurse, explained to me about the hemmroids even if I don't feel them they can be small and un noticable except for the blood. He also said, like the other ladies, lots of fiber and water! lol.
Mine hasn't happened since, and i've just been downing lots of water.

I didn't have them with Josiah until AFTER I delivered. As long as I keep hydrated, they are not a problem most of the time for me. Really hoping that they don't flair up during this pregnancy! I agree with all the advice given... water, fiber, and stool softeners!

I've been eating this prune butter (like apple butter but made from prunes), mostly just because I love the taste, for breakfast on a piece of toast with peanut butter! It's yummy and it should help in that department. I found it with the jams and jellys at the store...

I've always had issues going so I started taking a probiotic. Maybe talk to your OB about that. Or just eat more yogurt.

If it's just the consistency. Definitely go with the stool softener.
