No debate here... just curious if you've decided whether or not you'll get the nuchal translucency test at 12 weeks?

For my first two, I didn't... because it didn't make a difference. For my last, I did... it still didn't make a difference what the results were, it was just an excuse for me to see my baby again

I guess I am not sure what that is. Never had any sort of testing besides the gluclose test. Always declined everything else.

"assess your baby's risk of having Down syndrome (DS) and some other chromosomal abnormalities as well as major congenital heart problems.

The NT test uses ultrasound to measure the clear (translucent) space in the tissue at the back of your developing baby's neck. Babies with abnormalities tend to accumulate more fluid at the back of their neck during the first trimester, causing this clear space to be larger than average."

I'm getting it done...I just like the extra ultrasound! Not only that, if something was to be wrong, it would give me a little time to prepare myself. All in all, it doesn't really matter; I'd love my child no matter what.

We'll be doing it. I'd like to know of any issues as early as possible too.

Same here! It won't matter either way but the extra time would be good to prepare ourselves.

I did it in 06 and was the first time I saw a 3D ultrasound. I'll definitely be doing it again!

I honestly haven't decided yet. I skipped it with DD, but I am considering it this time.

I'll be getting it not that it would matter either way but like the other ladies said, would want to prepare myself. I don't remember them doing and u/s with DS, they just drew blood? Hopefully they'll do one this time so I can see the baby again!

Our OB only offers 1 ultrasound at 12 weeks for dating purposes and then one around 22 weeks for anatomy. All other tests are done via lab work.

I am with dawnmarie on this one. If my doctor recommends it, I will have it done. No matter what, this child will be loved.

We didn't do the NT scan or the Quad screen (blood test) with DS, and I doubt we will this time either.
