I read a zillion books when I was pregnant with Claire...some were great and some were terrible. For those who want to do some reading and/or for first timers, let's share our favorite pregnancy/birth/parenting books to give others ideas!

I like The Pregnancy Journal because it tells you about the baby's development everyday. I also LOVE Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.

Breastfeeding: So That's What They're For by Janet Tamaro
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding (La Leche League)

Pregnancy: Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy
Pregnancy Dos & Don'ts by Elisabeth Aron

After Baby Arrives: The Happiest Baby on the Block by Dr. Harvey Karp
Happy Baby - The Organic Guide to Baby's First 24 Months

I cannot stress enough how great The Happiest Baby on the Block is. There is a book and a DVD...both are wonderful and you'll be glad to have those tricks up your sleeve when your baby arrives!

I am also a huge fan of Great Expectations Your Guide To Pregnancy and Childbirth. I did not like What To Expect When You're Expecting... I thought the advice and info was really black and white, and not as good as what I got from the other book. And for the guys, if yours haven't read "My Boys Can Swim!" they totally should. Hilarious book!

What to expect when your expecting is the only one drilled into my brain in permanent ink. I am waiting for some new ones on multiples though. I gt one today that seems good.

I was trying to be diplomatic, but that is EXACTLY how I feel about the series! I actually got really offended by some of the parenting advice in the toddler one. So many other books that are way better out there.
