Hi ladies,

What are the various lengths of time that your docotrs are making you wait before being seen for the first time? My doc won't see me until I am 9 weeks, which is KILLING me....!!! I am dying to know that everything is ok, and that seems so long to wait. Anyone else's doc making them wait that long???

I will be seen at 6 weeks (but I pushed it off until 7 weeks.. I need to be sure I see a heartbeat the first time). I have had 5 miscarriages and am high risk due to blood clotting disorder. Most doctors around here would see you at 10 weeks for the first time with no issues.

I think thats pretty normal for the OB's to make us wait that long. Torture, I know!! Unless you have previous pregnancy issues that would make you higher risk. I know that my OB won't see you until 12-14 weeks for the first doctor visit. My first visit was at 6 weeks with the nurse only just to go over paperwork and stuff.

My OB likes to see patients for the first time between 8 and 10 weeks. I think that is pretty normal unless you have high-risk issues or are experiencing problems.

I hope time flies so you can have your first appointment!

I went to my first appointment at 6 weeks and had an u/s. I go again tomorrow for an 8 week check up but that is only because I have a pretty large cyst that they are tracking its growth. I don't think I could have waited 8-12 weeks for a first appointment. I would have gone crazy.

Its pure torture having to wait that long... Its so hard not to feel nervous the entire first trimester but I have to remember that stress isn't good for the baby either....sigh...

My reg Dr says 8 weeks, I moved mine up to right after 7 weeks (this Thurs) so we can tell our daughter for her 9th Bday which is next Tues......... although my eastern med dr has already given me 2 ultrasounds, one last Mon, where we thought there might be two babies, and one today, still not sure if there is two, but there was def one big healthy baby growing in there, it was HUGE difference from last week! I'm so excited!

My first appointment is on Thursday and I'll be 6 weeks 3 days. The only reason being that they have me 2 weeks ahead of what I really am because I ovulated late so they need to order and u/s to date the pregnancy (I'll schedule it Thursday). With my first 2 I wasn't seen until 8 weeks, with my third I didn't get in until 12 weeks.

Each Ob is different under certain circumstances, some will see you way sooner if your already considered high risk (prior pregnancies), or multiple M/C, but standard is 8-12 weeks for your first ob appointment.

My dr wont see me till 10 weeks. Standard for Navy hospital is 10-12 weeks. Im barely 5w3d and its getting to me too. Im so nervous, I really dont have any symptoms on pregnancy except my breast are a little tender. I had a miscarriage my 2nd pregnancy so im really nervous. I was sick my whole pregnancy with both of my kids. Cant wait till the time comes and I get reassurance

I went for a U/S today. But my first appointment isn't until the end of March. I'm due either the 6th or the 13th. Guess I will find out then which date they will be using.
