Be careful take shelter etc I see there are going to be severe storms in the central part of the states. If your in one of these areas what is you plan of safety?

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE!!! Yuck!! We are getting severe thunderstorm warnings right now, but tomorrow, huge tornado threat!!  We lost everything we owned in the Joplin, MO tornado last year, and bought a new house and moved in, in August. Dont want to loose it all again!! The only reason we survived is b/c we were gone in Kansas City at a Royals vs. Cardinals game. Crazyness....

I was watching this on the news earlier, its supposed to be a rough weekend in some parts My goodness I cannot even imagine losing everything, please stay safe! I am the BIGGEST coward when it comes to storms, good grief I'd NEVER make it in those parts!

We are used to it...in a way! In April and May around these parts, when they say bad weather coming, you got to keep an eye on it forsure! We never thought we would lose everything, besides the clothes on our back, but we were all 3 ok and thats what mattered.

Well, we made it thru the night....but todays the day we are going to get it bad!! Well, actually tonight around 10 pm-2am. Thats the part im nervous about. I cant hardly stay awake past 9 pm...and its up to DH to wait till they pass. I will keep you all posted.....we are praying!!!

We also live in Oklahoma. Yesterday wasn't terrible. I have a strong interest in science so this was absolutely fascinating for me. There was a tornado that touched down in Norman which is about 25 minutes away that was an EF2.
This morning around 1AM we got some strong rain and pea sized hail. We are in the red for some more more severe weather threats today so we will definitely have our eyes to the sky.
My poor kitties were going nuts yesterday about 30 minutes before the storm hit. They seem much more calm today. I hope everyone else south and east of us were ok!!!! <3

You too alley!! Im right outside of OKC. It's starting to get dark and the wind has kicked up. I have 2 kitties perched at the back door so I'm just waiting for them to start acting like fools.

I'm watching all of this of course, being a meteorologist and all... We only have a slight chance of bad storms here, so I'm not too concerned about things here. It is definitely rare for the Storm Prediction Center to put out a high risk warning so far ahead of time. Hoping all of you in these areas stay safe today and tonight. Tomorrow doesn't look quite as bad, but still chances ongoing and coming through here more likely tomorrow.
